Pulled over for this poor thing near the swan at tockington, someone must have hit it and carried on driving.
A lovely lady pulled over to see if things were ok (who happened to be a veterinarian), I already rang the police by then so I hope they find as it did manage to move over into the long grass 🦌

The “Middle” Game
Middle is a useful exercise for helping to build your dog’s confidence and giving them a safe, familiar position close to you. It can also be helpful when you want your dog to disengage from something in the environment and bring their focus and engagement back to you.
How to teach Middle:
Place a treat in front of your dog’s nose.
Use the treat to lure your dog around one of your legs and into the space between your legs.
Your dog can remain standing or move into a sit.
Mark the behaviour and reward.
Training tips: It can be easier to use both hands when first guiding your dog around your leg and into the middle position.
As your dog becomes more confident and fluent with the exercise, gradually reduce the amount of hand movement you use.
The eventual goal is for your dog to move into Middle from a simple verbal cue or hand signal, without needing to follow a food lure. Take your time and progress at your dog’s pace.

Teaching your dog new tricks is about progress, not perfection. 🐾
Break each step down into small, achievable pieces so your dog can understand exactly what you're asking. Reward every success, no matter how small, and build on it gradually.
Keep training consistent but short. Just 3 to 5 minutes a few times a day is often far more effective than one long session. Ending while your dog is still enjoying themselves helps keep them motivated and eager to learn.
Training should be fun, rewarding, and a great way to strengthen the bond between you and your dog. ❤️
