🐾 Walkies Wednesdays: Behind the scenes of my group walks 🐾

Have you ever wondered how I decide which dogs go on which walks?

As Mucky Pups has grown, I’ve slowly got to know each dog individually - their personalities, their confidence levels, their favourite things, and what they enjoy (or don’t enjoy!) on a walk.

Before a dog joins a group walk, I always start with an individual walk. This gives me the chance to get to know them properly and make sure they will be comfortable and happy joining a group.

When creating groups, I don’t just put six dogs together and hope for the best. I carefully consider their temperaments, energy levels and how they interact with other dogs.

For example, a group of dogs who all want to run, play and chase each other will have a very different walk compared to a group who prefer a slower pace, lots of sniffing and exploring.

The maximum number of dogs allowed on one walk is six, but I will only take six dogs if I know I can safely manage them and stay in full control. Every dog’s safety and enjoyment comes first. 🐾

Finding the right combination of dogs is what makes group walks so special - because when the match is right, everyone has the best time! 💚

🐾 Meet Benny, our adorable Bocker pup! 🐶💛
A Beagle x Cocker mix, Benny is as sweet as he is playful, and he’s learning so much every day! His social skills are top-notch, he loves his furry friends on walks!

His training is going so well too, when he stays calm, he’s a total star. Of course, he’s still a pup, so sometimes he gets a bit distracted, but we’re working on it and he’s doing AMAZING!

🌟 Pup of the Week: Sonny! 🌟

This week’s spotlight is on our lovely Sonny 🐾🤍

Sonny has been working so hard on his confidence around other dogs, and we’re so proud of the progress he’s making. 🥹

On our walk this week, three dogs walked straight up to him… and Sonny didn’t react once! He stayed focused, checked in with me, and showed just how far he’s come. 👏✨

His love for sniffy adventures and exploring makes every walk so much fun 🐶🌿

Cold, wet, but full of wagging tails yesterday!
I started with a calm walk with Ruby and Mr. Pickle, then had a lively group walk with Cooper, Murphy, Custard, Dexter, and Skye. After that, another group walk with Marlowe, Rosie, Ted, Willow, and Wilma.
Ending the day with a cozy pop-in visit with Ruby again. These pups keep me going, no matter the weather!☔️🐾

☔🐾 Rainy walks, happy pups! 🐾☔

Today’s adventures started with Sammy, who I’m house-sitting. We squeezed in one last morning walk and a final afternoon stroll before his owner came home. It’s been lovely looking after him! ❤️

Then it was time for Mr Pickle’s walk before heading out with our first group of the day: Bobby, Dexter, Marlowe, Rosie and Cherry. 🌟

A special mention for Cherry, who joined her second group walk and was an absolute superstar! She settled in beautifully and did amazing. 🐶💕

The afternoon group featured Willow, Ralph, Henry, Wilma, Coco and Orla, who all had a fantastic time splashing through the wet weather together. 🌧️🐾

The rain certainly made an appearance today, but it didn’t stop the fun! 💚

🐾⭐ Pup of the Week ⭐🐾

This week’s Pup of the Week is Ralph the Golden Doodle! ❤️

Ralph is a real softy who can be a little nervous around new people, but he’s an absolute superstar on his walks. I never have to call him back because he’s always right by my side.

Ralph is also the group’s little guardian. If another dog goes swimming, he’ll bark as if to check they’re okay, and if anyone gets too excited and jumps up at me, Ralph is quick to tell them off and protect his walker! 🐕❤️

Well done, Ralph! 🏆

✨🐾Fun Thursdays at Mucky Pups🐾✨

What a lovely day we’ve had!

We started the morning with the our lovely gentleman Mr Pickle, who enjoyed a gentle 30-minute stroll and plenty of sniffing opportunities. ❤️🐶

Our first group walk was full of fun with Cooper, Murphy, Bella, Dexter, and Ralph. There was plenty of exploring, sniffing and a whole lot of zooming around! 🐾🌳

Later on, Wilma, Willow, Ted, Marlowe, and Rosie headed out for their own adventure. Lots of happy tails, mucky pups, and smiles all round! 🐕✨

This afternoon I started a house sit with Sammy. After his owner headed off, I arrived to keep him company and took him out for a lovely long walk to help him settle. We spent some time relaxing at home before heading back out for another hour-long evening adventure.

Now we’re winding down the day with cuddles on the sofa while Sammy keeps watch over the neighbourhood cats through the window. 🐱👀❤️

Days like these remind me how lucky I am to spend my time with such amazing dogs. Thank you for trusting me with your wonderful pups! 🐾💚

Meet the pups Monday with Sammy the German Shepard 🐾

Sammy is a huge softy who was fostered from a puppy but the owner fell in love with him and couldn’t give him back so adopted him 🐾

He went on his first group walk today and it went amazingly, so we are really looking forward to see who he bonds with the most 🐾

This week’s Pup of the Week is… Rhua!

Rhua is a cheeky, fun-loving girl who keeps us on our toes! As she’s still navigating her adolescent stage, we’re continuing to work on her training, building her confidence around new dogs, and improving her recall skills.

She’s been doing brilliantly on her group walks, so we’re now progressing her to two group walks a week to help her make even more friends and continue developing her social skills. We’re so proud of the progress she’s making!
