🚨 BIG NEWS – Finally a Public Consultation on Fireworks
📣 The UK Government has launched a 12-week public consultation on proposals to strengthen fireworks regulations.
We all know just how many horse owners and yard owners have been affected by fireworks in recent years. Every year, horses are left frightened, injured, or distressed because of excessively loud fireworks. This consultation is a real opportunity to help change that.
This important initiative is being led by Redwings Horse Sanctuary, and we need as many people as possible to get involved.
One of the key proposals is to reduce the maximum noise level of consumer fireworks, helping to lessen the devastating impact loud fireworks can have on horses, other animals, and people. This has been at the heart of Redwings’ Keep Horses In Mind campaign and follows the petition that gained over 184,000 signatures, leading to a Parliamentary debate earlier this year.
Public consultations genuinely can influence government policy, so every response matters.
🗓️ The consultation closes on 7th October.
