🐾 THE TALE OF MAX – ABBEY MEADS' FOUR-LEGGED MAYOR 🐾
Hello humans!
My name is Max, and if you've ever visited Abbey Meads Park, chances are we've already met. If not, don't worry – give me five minutes and I'll probably introduce myself!
I'm an 11-year-old Bengal cat, which means I'm basically a tiny leopard with a big personality. I've lived in Abbey Meads all my life and have spent years perfecting my very important job as the village's unofficial greeter, smile-maker, and professional cuddle collector.
Every morning, I clock in for work. My office? The park. My duties? Supervising children playing, greeting walkers, inspecting picnics (strictly looking, not eating!), sunbathing, and making sure everyone has a smile on their face before they leave.
People often ask, "Max, why are you so friendly?"
Well, that's easy. I grew up in a busy family with five human siblings. FIVE! Imagine sharing your house with five tiny humans. I've been cuddled, carried, dressed up, chatted to, and loved my entire life. My mummy also looks after children, so I've spent years surrounded by little people. Because of that, children don't bother me at all. In fact, I love them!
I have endless patience, a gentle nature, and I genuinely enjoy saying hello to everyone. Whether you're 2 or 92, I'll happily accept your fuss and attention.
Now, let's address the question I hear at least ten times a week:
"Is Max lost?"
Nope.
"Does Max have a home?"
Absolutely.
"Does Max belong to someone?"
I certainly do.
I have a wonderful family who love me very much. Every evening I head home for dinner, cuddles, naps, more cuddles, and then usually some extra cuddles just to be safe.
Another question I hear a lot is:
"Why is Max so skinny?"
Excuse me! I'm not skinny... I'm aerodynamic.
I'm a Bengal cat, and Bengals are naturally lean and athletic. Think Olympic athlete, not sofa potato. I may look slim, but trust me, I eat enough food for three cats and a small horse. My family actually has to keep me on a special diet because I would happily eat breakfast, second breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper and midnight snacks if allowed.
Please don't feed me, no matter how convincing my face looks. I promise I'm not starving. That's just one of my many talents.
I'm also very well looked after. I visit the vet regularly for health checks, vaccinations, flea treatments and all the boring grown-up stuff. So if you see me stretched out in the sunshine looking completely relaxed, that's because life is pretty wonderful.
The park has become my second home over the years. I've made hundreds of friends here. Some stop to say hello every day. Some visit just to check if I'm around. Others arrive as strangers and leave as members of Team Max.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing children laugh when I roll over for a tummy rub or hearing someone say, "There's Max!" from the other side of the park.
So if you see me enjoying my daily adventures, please don't worry. Feel free to say hello, give me a gentle fuss, take a photo, and enjoy a little Max time.
And if you ever genuinely think I am injured or unwell, please contact my family.
Until then, I'll be busy carrying out my important duties as Abbey Meads' most dedicated park supervisor.
Thank you for being my friends.
Love,
🐾 Max
