πŸ†• New arrival β€” 2x Red Atabapo Pike Cichlid (Crenicichla sp. Atabapo) | 13" specimens | Live Auction

These just arrived on a fresh tranship and they are exceptional. The Atabapo locality is one of the most prized among Crenicichla collectors β€” deep, saturated red colouration, a bold lateral stripe, and a presence in the water that genuinely stops you in your tracks.

At 13" these are large, fully grown adults. Wild-caught from blackwater tributaries in the Atabapo river system (Colombia/Venezuela border region), which is exactly what produces that colouration intensity you won't get from tank-raised stock.

──────────────────────
🐟 Species: Crenicichla sp. Atabapo
πŸ“ Size: ~13"
πŸͺ£ Minimum setup: 6Γ—2Γ—2ft (a pair will need more)
🌑️ Temp: 26–29Β°C Β· pH 4.5–6.5 Β· Soft, acidic blackwater
πŸͺ΅ DΓ©cor: Driftwood, leaf litter, fine sand β€” low light
⚠️ Experience level: Expert. These are aggressive, predatory fish.
──────────────────────

Both fish are going up as a pair in a single auction lot β€” a matched pair of adults is genuinely rare to see in the UK trade.

All fish leave MTF with our Live Arrival Guarantee and travel on next-day specialist live courier.

Bid via the link below. Stock is, by definition, exactly two fish.

πŸ†• New Arrival β€” Hoplias aimara (Giant Wolf Fish) | Live Auction

Fresh import, just landed. Hoplias aimara is one of those fish that genuinely earns the 'apex predator' label β€” a massive, muscular ambush hunter from South American river systems, with a jaw structure and strike speed that make feeding time genuinely startling.

What to know before you bid:
β€’ Needs 8Γ—3ft minimum β€” this fish uses the space
β€’ Solo specimen only β€” no tankmates survive long-term
β€’ Blackwater setup suits them well: low pH, tannin-stained water, heavy driftwood cover
β€’ Feeding: chunky whole prey items, chunky meaty pellets (Hikari Massivore works well once trained)
β€’ Secure, heavy lid β€” non-negotiable

This is not a community tank fish or a beginner buy. If you have the setup and the experience, it's an extraordinary animal to keep.

Marc hand-selected this import direct from source. One fish, on auction now β€” ships next-day with our Live Arrival Guarantee.

We don't use the word rare loosely β€” but a Snow White Pearl Stingray of this calibre is genuinely hard to source.

This male has just arrived at MTF, cleared quarantine, and is now live on 7-day silent auction. He's measuring 11–12" disc β€” a fully mature specimen β€” with a strikingly clean pearl-white dorsal pattern and excellent body condition throughout.

Snow White Stingrays represent one of the most refined colour morphs in the freshwater stingray hobby. The near-complete absence of melanin across the disc is the result of careful, multi-generational selective breeding. Fish of this quality are not a regular stock item β€” when they come in, there's one, and then there isn't.

πŸ”§ Setup requirements to have before you bid:
β€’ Minimum 6Γ—4ft (approx. 720L) footprint with smooth-edged aquascape
β€’ Fine, soft sand substrate β€” coarse gravel will damage the disc underside
β€’ pH 6.0–6.8 | Temp 26–28Β°C | Zero ammonia/nitrite tolerance
β€’ High-volume filtration; stingrays produce significant waste
β€’ Secure, low-profile dΓ©cor β€” rays need open swimming space on the substrate

Shipping covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. Next-day specialist live-fish courier, Mon–Thu dispatch.

Auction is live now β€” one fish, one chance. Tap the link to place your bid.

The Red Florida Gar β€” one of the most striking predator fish you can keep in a UK aquarium, and right now we have healthy 9–10" specimens in stock.

Lepisosteus platyrhincus is already a distinctive species: elongated body, armoured ganoid scales, and an ambush-hunting style that makes it a serious centrepiece fish. This colour form adds vivid crimson and amber tones that set it apart from anything you'd find at a wholesaler.

🐟 Size on arrival: 9–10"
🌑️ Temperature: 18–26Β°C
βš—οΈ pH: 6.5–7.5 | Hardness: adaptable
🏊 Tank: 6ft footprint minimum β€” these grow large
🎯 Diet: accepting Hikari Massivore, whitebait, whole prawns
⚠️ Secure-lidded setup required β€” gars are strong and will jump

At Β£450, this is a hand-selected specimen fish with our Live Arrival Guarantee and next-day specialist live-fish delivery included. We're fishkeepers first β€” every animal is health-checked and acclimated before dispatch.

If you're building a large North American or mixed oddball biotope, this is the centrepiece. Tagged intermediate–expert level keeper.

πŸ”₯ Rare Red Florida Gar (Lepisosteus platyrhincus) β€” 9–10" specimens in stock now

We have a healthy run of these in right now β€” a colour form that most UK hobbyists simply haven't encountered before. Where the standard Florida Gar is olive-brown with dark patterning, this morph carries deep red and copper hues across its ganoid scales, making it one of the most visually distinctive gars available in the UK trade.

These are predatory, long-lived specimen fish for experienced keepers with the space to house them properly. If you're not sure whether your setup is ready, ask us β€” we'd rather answer a question than see the fish go somewhere it won't thrive.

Fresh stock in: Black Arowana (Osteoglossum ferreirai), 12–13 inches β€” 6 available at Β£250 each.

This is one of the more demanding species we carry, and we'll be straight with you about that. O. ferreirai is the rarer, darker South American cousin of the Silver Arowana β€” found in the Rio Negro and its blackwater tributaries. Juveniles arrive with striking banding that fades to a deep gunmetal as they mature. Adults regularly reach 90cm+ in captivity, and they grow quickly.

πŸ“ Tank: minimum 6Γ—2ft footprint to start, larger as they grow
πŸ’§ Water: blackwater conditions, pH 5.5–7.0, 26–30Β°C, soft (under 8 dGH)
πŸ– Feeding: surface-feeding predator β€” live insects, prawns, earthworms; wean onto Hikari Massivore or similar large sticks over time
πŸ”’ Lids: secure, heavy, no gaps β€” they jump. Full stop.

These are not a fish for a community tank or a 4ft setup. If you have the space and the setup, they are genuinely remarkable animals.

Dispatched Mon–Thu before 2pm. Next-day specialist live-fish courier. Live Arrival Guarantee included. Full care guide at mtf-aquatics.co.uk/care-guides/

We're fishkeepers first, retailers second β€” if this fish isn't right for your tank, we'll tell you.
