The gorgeous Max was the most patient boy for his feather clip with me this week! ✨ His lovely owner asked for feather removal to check for CPL; to aid treatment of any sores and mallenders and to make him look lovely and smart to match his body clip which his owner did a lovely job with. 🥰

We were so happy to find the most beautiful, healthy legs with no signs of CPL at all, all thanks to his owner’s diligent management and care - including a low sugar, clean diet, with daily turnout and marigold and cleavers fed daily 🌿.

Max is the most striking boy 🫶

Some of the beautiful horses I’ve clipped over the heatwave, so they look super-smart for the upcoming summer show season! ☀️🥇🏆

Bailey, Keekee & Eclipse all stood like a dream for their full clips, to keep them cool over the summer months, manage their feathers and ensure they look spotless to compete! All ponies were perfectly behaved and a pleasure to clip 🫶

The beautiful Xena also had a mane tidy-up in preparation for a summer of fun!

The stunning Tillie posing for her Hunter clip with me earlier this week 💖. Although tentative at first, as it was her first ever clip, she very quickly began to enjoy the process and zoned out with her lick 😂. This beautiful little girl was clipped with my Covercote (4.5mm) blades, to enable her summer coat to grow through unhindered throughout the spring!

The lovely Trey modelling his Reverse Leg Blend for me ✨. Due to his breed, he sadly suffers with CPL, mallenders + sallenders, so his lovely owner asked me to remove his feather while leaving his body unclipped, for a seamless reverse leg blend.

Usually, a leg blend would blend a clipped body down into full, hairy feather, however, Trey’s needs meant this was reversed to something I’d not done before (hairy body blended into clipped feather), but I really enjoy leg blends and I’m so happy with how Trey’s turned out! 🥰

Trey is now loving life and his leg conditions are much easier to manage now that the hair is clipped away 🐴💇‍♀️

Little Chip 🍟🥔, this sweetheart was an angel for his Hunter clip with leg blend with me earlier this month 🫶. Lots of itching, moulting and irritation as the weather got warmer meant Chip was booked in for a refresh of his existing Irish clip (not done by me) to help ease him into the Spring and allow his summer coat to grow through 🌱.

❓But I’ve been told clipping later than January affects their summer coat?

🙌 A Hunter clip with leg blend is the gold standard clip for this time of year 🥰, using Coarse blades, the old winter coat is taken down to summer coat length, preventing sweating and making moulting much easier to deal with, while also allowing the summer coat to grow through unaffected - the leg blend prevents any lines being seen come the summer so your horse will be show-ready straight after their clip and it will last all the way until next winter! 🙌

Connie the stunning dapple grey showing off her Irish clip with me last week 💕. She was an absolute star, fell asleep during her clip and even got the award for best horse I’ve ever clipped 🏆, as she absolutely loved the whole process 🥰.

Her Irish clip will keep her cool while hacking out, minimise moulting and allow for an easier transition into the Spring! 🌱 I used my 2.5mm Medium blades for her grey coat and to ensure her summer coat isn’t affected as it’s growing in ✨.

The absolutely stunning Rocky modelling his Hunter clip with half face + saddle patch for me last week 🫶. The first palomino I’ve ever clipped and an absolutely gorgeous boy! 💞

He was the bravest boy and enjoyed his first ever clip so much that his lip started going over his scratchy spots 😆. His new clip will allow him to enjoy hunting with Banwen Miners Bloodhounds, Michelle Rees 🥰, significantly reduce moulting in the spring and help keep him cool and comfortable going into the Spring 🌼.

Blackjack posing for his Hunter clip without a saddle patch for me yesterday 🥰. This handsome boy had a really positive experience for his first clip, where he was really brave and stood like an angel!

My 2.5mm blades will help his owner by significantly reducing shedding over the coming months, while also allowing him to grow a beautifully shiny summer coat in without an issue! 🤩

He also enjoyed his Deelicious Doughnut baked by me 🧑‍🍳 - more info coming soon!! 👀

The beautiful Molly showing off her low Irish clip with a heart and a star for me today, for which she was a complete angel! 💝

Her lovely owner asked for assistance elongating her existing bib clip, as many long hacks meant Molly had begun to sweat more, and the low Irish covers just enough to keep her sweat-free, while also keeping her toasty in this cold winter weather 😌. She stood like a star for me and loved modelling her clip after a relaxing hot cloth too! 💕
