The pros and cons of the laser toy…
Pros - easy by to use, high energy toy, can be used to train cats to use a cat wheel/scratch post, easy to store.
Cons - too easy to rely on as the sole toy for enrichment, can lead to frustration when a cat is never able to catch the dot, can cause overstimulation and lead to other behaviours such as aggression.
If you wish to use a laser toy, keep sessions very short, even in use as training tools, and always supply a treat in place of the dot at conclusion of play, so the hunt scenario is fulfilled and a cat isn’t left frustrated 🙂

Sometimes our kitties need medicine, or a worming treatment, but don’t want to take it, so using sardines, lickable treats, or a gravy based wet food to hide the medication is a less stressful way to ensure they get what is needed. Keep portion sizes small so they don’t leave half of the medication behind, and be sure to give the treat without medication occasionally, so they are encouraged to enjoy it as normal 🙂
