Mash & Gravy enjoyed their stay here at Happy Paws Hotel. In particular they enjoyed their fresh grass tray in the outdoor run, as well as the indoor forage tray πΏπ±π₯¬ We still have some spaces left for this summer if you are looking for somewhere to board your small animals. ππ
Itβs always lovely when we bump into Josh and Miki from Paws4Thought. All the dogs had a great time socialising and playing together π₯°

Hello Happy Paws Family!
I just wanted to thank everyone whoβs recently shared, liked and commented on my small animal boarding post, really appreciate the support on this.
Iβve had a number of private messages asking if I provide dog boarding services and as much as I would like to offer these services, its not something I can provide.
Weβre getting to that time of year where discussions and planning on summer holidays is taking place, and I know a lot of you are looking for home boarding. Anyone offering home boarding for dogs must have obtained a licence from the local licensing authority to be able to provide this service.
I know to some this licence may seem like a tedious piece of paper but it really is there for a reason. Licensing sets out minimum requirements for our beloved pets, covering an array of areas including exercise, pet monitoring, health and cleanliness, ensuring any establishment is putting your animals health and safely first.
Here is a link to Ashfield district councils webpage for animal licensing, where you can find all the local establishments that offer home boarding:
https://www.ashfield.gov.uk/business-licensing/licensing-permits/animal-licences/
Thank you for reading this post. Feel free to share, keep your pets safe and protected
Anyone making financial gain, taking commission or charging a fee for these activities will need a licence. Whether or not they charge or make financial gains anyone keeping a dangerous wild animal or running a zoo will also need a licence.
Weβve just about made it through a full month of the new year, and Iβm sure a lot of you are already looking forward to a holiday! But have you thought about who is going to be looking after your little furries?
Happy Paws Hotel has limited availability so book now to avoid disappointment.
Our luxury small animal boarding establishment is suitable for an array of animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, gerbils!
And thats a wrap ππ.. well sort ofβ¦.
Whilst Iβm not back dog walking until the 27th, enjoying the festivities with family and friends, Happy Paws Hotel are still finalising plans ready for the big day tomorrow!
We have the gorgeous Luna and Sunny staying with us over the festive period. Luna has been helping us with the final preparations for the anticipated visit from Santa Paws πΎ by taste testing the cookies to be left out for Mr Paws to ensure they donβt leave on an empty stomach with the busy schedule they have!
I just a want to say a massive thank you to everyone that has supported my business this year, from my regular dog walking family, my pet sitting clients throughout 2022 and everyone whoβs shared my social media posts. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year!!

βHmm, it looked a lot bigger online...β
They always do, donβt they?
Donβt be fooled by online sales of rabbit hutches. While the descriptions say they are βroomyβ and βspaciousβ, this is usually far from the truth.
Rabbit hutches should only be used as a shelter for your rabbits as they need plenty of space to be able to hop around and stand up on their hind legs.
Rabbits cannot do this in hutches.
β A hutch is not enough β
All the time inadequate sized hutches are for sale, new rabbit owners are tricked into thinking these are acceptable forms of housing.
We need to change this.
Please sign our petition to ban the sale of small rabbit hutches and introduce a new minimum housing requirement law in the UK: http://chng.it/pzcbJ89K5t

Please respect on lead dogs. You have no idea why that dog may be on a lead, he or she may be arthritic/elderly/recovering from surgery/aggressive/fearful β¦ the list of possibilities is endless but there will be a reason WHY he or she is on a lead.
It doesnβt matter if your dog is friendly the on lead dog may not be.
EVERYTIME an off lead dogs runs in at an on lead dog this sets the on lead dog back if he or she has fear or aggression issues.
Sadly βfriendlyβ dogs (ie ones who run in) can inadvertently cause a problem so please show on lead dogs and their owners the courtesy they deserve.
If your dog has poor recall please keep it on a lead in dog heavy areas.
Very young pups out on early walks after vaccination can be traumatised/damaged mentally by βfriendlyβ dogs.
We love to see dogs being able to run freely in appropriate places but with freedom comes responsibility to keep your dog under control. If your dog lacks a recall put it on a lead.
Please be a responsible owner.
β οΈπ§ π¦ Please also remember that some adults and children are afraid of dogs itβs important to not allow your dogs to scare humans either.

Step aside Popeye, we have a little furrie that seems to enjoy spinach more than you! Here we have Ruby enjoying a little mid morning treat and as you can see itβs going down well in this heat! Donβt forget, leafy greens should make up around 75% of your rabbits diet but need to be rotated due to the oxalic acid content. Some good examples include: - beet greens - Swiss chard - carrots top π₯ - bok Choy There are plenty more to choose from and the above are just some examples! As always, stay safe in the warmer weather, stay hydrated and enjoy what is set to be a lovely sunny week βοΈππ
