This stunning boy is Mandoo, a large who I had the pleasure of meeting recently. He's not a lap cat but definitely curious and allowed me to give him lots of fuss. Just how I like it!

He used to be a house cat but now has access to a lovely garden. He was very timid tiptoeing around outside but enjoyed a licky lick treat on the patio with me!

I also love spending time with cats and this gorgeous trio (Stewie, Ziggy and Pedro) are regulars for drop in feeds, litter tray changes and of course the all important playtime and cuddles while their humans are away!

I've befriended all sorts of cats including shy, nervous, indifferent, golden oldies and little kittens. So far, fingers crossed, I've not yet met a cat I can't develop a relationship with. Again it's about respecting their boundaries when getting to know them.

This gorgeous boy is called Fawkes. When I first met him he was nervous, reactive, barky and protective of his owner. He did not want me anywhere near him. With time, patience, taking things at his pace and a fair amount of chicken we've become friends and he comes to the door wagging his tail when I take him out for walks. He's still a bit nervous when we're out but that's not about me. Seeing him calm and happy, and his owner knowing he's OK is what makes what I do so satisfying.

Meet the gorgeous Wilbur, a new client and one of the soppiest, easy going boys I've ever met. Aka the 5th child in his family and by far the most loved! He's a tennis ball finding pro in the park, as well as anything remotely edible (including dandelions) or inedible! I look forward to more walks and cuddles with him.

Hello and welcome to my new social media account! Allow me to introduce myself, I'm The Animal Aunty, aka Kathy. I figured I'm a real aunty to 8 humans and surrogate aunt to my friends' kids, so why not to the animals I meet when I'm dog walking and pet sitting. My aim is to always look after the animals in the way the owner/pet parent wants them cared for.

I've always loved animals and last year took the step to set up my own small business, walking and caring for (mostly) dogs and cats. I've looked after a couple of rabbits too and would, within reason, look after any pet given the right instructions.

I volunteer on a regular basis at a dog rescue centre which I absolutely love. We get all sorts in there which has given me great additional experience with dogs of different sizes, needs, backgrounds, breeds and temperaments.

So far as a dog walker and house sitter, I've looked after old, young, sensitive, shy, scared, boisterous and special needs dogs, but I've found if I watch their body language to understand their boundaries, we can get to a place where they are happy to be looked after by me. This is something else I find really rewarding, my human clients are delighted and it makes me very happy too!

Above is the adorable Pablo, a puppy, who at 7 months old is really into everything! Just as well he's cute! I looked after him for the evening while his human family went out to a gig. He's also very friendly and loves snuggling up on my lap for a cuddle!
