CARRIAGE DRIVING - WHAT TO DO WHEN THINGS GO WRONG? 🌟The Reading Room, opposite Jamaica Inn car park, Bolventor, PL15 7TS, CORNWALL🌟

Come and join us for a talk by Samantha Searle and Modris Kesans (BDS Training & Education) on what to do when things go wrong.

We all hope it will never happen, but would you or your groom know what to do in the event of an accident or incident?

Carriage driving is a very enjoyable and rewarding discipline. However things can go wrong, and there are some real dangers involved, so it’s very important to understand and know what to do in an emergency.
This talk is not to frighten you, it is to make you aware of what can happen and fully prepare you for if and when it does. We are here to help you, so that if you ever find yourself in a situation, you will know how to deal with it, keeping yourself, your groom and your pony safe.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
£10 per person. Please book in with Bryony Maunder on 07501 520630 so that we have an idea of numbers beforehand.

We’re pleased to welcome Sarah Bellow as the new Carriage Driving Representative on our Access & Rights of Way Advisory Committee (AROWAC). A vital link between carriage drivers and the BHS, helping to raise awareness and ensure their needs are represented in national access conversations.

We’d also like to thank outgoing representative Gail Johnson for her dedicated service in this role and her contribution to the committee.

Please come along and watch - our aim is to promote carriage driving, show everyone the versatility and inclusiveness of our sport and demonstrate the different disciplines that you can take part in

BDS Summer Kids Camp 2025

Complete beginners more than welcome. Please come and have some fun and give carriage driving a go.
Cowboy themed party on Saturday evening 🥳

£80 for non members or £50 for members for the whole weekend which includes food, goody bags, rosettes etc

On behalf of the British Driving Society we would like to congratulate everyone who took part in the carriage driving classes at the RDA National Championships yesterday at Hartpury College.
Carriage driving offers many of the same benefits as riding, including improved co-ordination and balance, relaxation through rhythmic movement and being with the horses and ponies along with the freedom of getting out and about in the open air and with other people.
Carriage driving gives the disabled driver something to focus on, and it is just wonderful to see the interaction, concentration and focus that these drivers have.
It was wonderful to be able to watch this yesterday and share see the excitement and sense of achievement when these drivers were awarded their rosettes.

The Winterton Agricultural society was formed in 1872 to further the interests of a rapidly modernising agricultural community. For many years the society held a two day Agricultural Show and sports in the Picturesque Park at Winterton Show.
