I have been approached and offered stalls at several summer dog shows running between June and August, and I have made the decision to decline.
While I do enjoy attending events and having a stall from time to time, my business is primarily online, and my priority will always be dog welfare.
Alongside this business, I also work as a dog trainer and dog walker, and I take high temperatures very seriously. Because of that, I don’t typically attend dog shows even in the best conditions, as I often see dogs who are stressed or struggling in busy environments. When temperatures rise, it becomes an even clearer no for me.
I genuinely find it concerning that so many events continue to run in hot weather. I understand the time, effort, and cost that goes into organising them, but no event is worth the risk of dogs overheating or becoming seriously unwell, or worse, dying!
I will still be looking at attending a few selected markets more regularly, but I won’t be attending dog shows over the summer.
