Ever noticed your dog seems to ‘unlearn’ recall when it’s time to head home or go back on the lead? 🤔

Here’s why: if the only time you’re calling them is when the fun ends, they start to catch on.
But don’t worry, we’ve got your back! 🐶✨ Make recall something your dog looks forward to with these fun games:

🎯 Hide and Seek
Call your dog while you’re hiding behind a tree or bush. When they find you, it’s all about rewards and excitement!

🎾 Fetch with a Twist
Toss their favorite toy, then recall them before they pick it up. Once they return, let them go for the toy—instant double fun!

🐕 Recall Tag
Get a friend involved and take turns calling your dog from different spots. It’s a fast-paced recall game that’ll keep them on their toes.

🍖 Surprise Recall Treats
Randomly call your dog during walks, not just for home time, but for an extra-special treat or a quick belly rub!

By mixing up your recall cues with these games, you’ll keep it fresh, exciting, and rewarding for your dog—no more associating ‘come here’ with the end of playtime! 🙌

Barking isn't always bad! Sometimes it’s your dog’s way of protecting their home or expressing excitement. 🐶 But when it becomes constant or over the top, it can lead to stress—for both you and your dog.

Here are Top 3 Tips to reduce excessive barking without taking away their natural instincts:

Create Positive Associations: Teach your dog to associate the doorbell or passersby with calm, rewarding experiences. 🎾
Introduce Barking Cues: Did you know you can teach your dog when to bark and when to stop? It’s all about timing and reinforcement. ⏰
Practice Calm Behaviors: Reinforce calmness with quiet time zones, especially around windows or doors. 🧘‍♂️
Remember, we don’t want to eliminate barking—we want to control it, ensuring your home stays peaceful while letting your dog be a dog! 🙌

🎯 Ready to dive deeper? Our Break the Bark workshop offers practical tips, guidance, and real-life practice to help you regain control over excessive barking.

🚫 Myth Buster! 🚫

💬 "Giving your dog treats during walks or training is bad for them."

❌ MYTH

✅ FACT: Using treats as positive reinforcement during walks or training is actually a great way to build a stronger bond with your dog!
🍖 Treats are a powerful tool to reward good behavior, encourage learning, and keep your dog engaged. Whether it's during training sessions or on walks, rewarding your dog helps reinforce positive habits.

🧠 Just remember to choose healthy treats and keep an eye on portion sizes—balance is key!

Here at The Learning Lab, we celebrate love in all its forms—humans and dogs included! 💖

You might have wondered or been asked the funny question, "Is my dog gay?"—especially if your male dog has shown some extra friendly behavior toward other male dogs. While it’s fun to laugh about, let’s clear this up! 😄

Why do male dogs hump other male dogs?
It’s actually not about sexual orientation! Hu***ng (or mounting) is a common behavior in dogs for various reasons like:

Excitement and playfulness 🐕
Social dominance 🏆
Stress or overstimulation 🌀
Practicing natural instincts 🦴

So don’t worry, your dog’s hu***ng doesn’t mean they’re making a statement about their sexual identity. It’s more about energy, instinct, and sometimes just them being a goofy dog!

🐕✨ Remember, training can help curb overexcited hu***ng if it becomes an issue. Feel free to drop us a message if you need any advice or tips on this!

Let’s keep the fun and love going strong this LGBTQ+ Month! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
