Our Nutrition Officer, Zoe Russell BSc (Hons), ANutr, recently delivered a nutrition training course to the kennel team at Gleneagles. The session covered the fundamentals of canine nutrition, dentition and digestion, understanding pet food labels, practical feeding advice, and addressing some of the common nutrition myths still frequently heard within the industry.

The practical element of the visit included body condition scoring the team’s dogs, alongside dummy work exercises, which the dogs thoroughly enjoyed. It’s always rewarding to work alongside passionate teams who genuinely care about the wellbeing of the dogs in their care - and even better in such an incredible setting.

There’s more to being ready for the field than a good retrieve. Steadiness, control, fitness and focus all play their part when you’re out in the field with your dog. The work you’ve put in during the off-season makes all the difference.
