‼️ Advanced notice ‼️ Monday 13th to the morning of Thursday 16th July I will be away on a training course. If you do want a session that week please let me know sooner rather than later, so I can try to accommodate everyone as best that I can that needs a slot that week. I will still be monitoring calls, messages and emails while I am away. However, they will be long days, so I might not able to get back to you as quickly as I would normally be able to.

Who’s the face behind the brand, as there’s more to me than just being a veterinary physiotherapist?

Hi I’m Eleanor or El.
👩🏻‍🍳 I’m a keen baker. Celebration cakes are my fav to make, but unfortunately the metabolism isn’t as quick as it used to be. Anyone fancy being a taste tester?
🧘🏻‍♀️ For the past 5 years I have regularly attend Pilates, as it allows me to be able to get in the positions I need to for this job.
👩🏻‍🌾 On a regular basis I help with my friends’ animals on their farm.
🐶 Jack russells and gun dog breeds are breeds that I’ve always had soft spots for.
🏋🏻‍♀️ I have physiotherapy sessions myself, to ensure that I am not over compensating in certain areas. I try to make sure that I practice what I preach.
🐴 At 7 years old I started horse riding, I still ride, but as a happy hacker.

Is there anything you would like to know more on?

P.S. the cake is white chocolate and raspberry ripple.

Did you know “vet” in my business name does not mean that I am vet? It is actually a shorten prefix for veterinary. This is the same for when a veterinary nurse is called a vet nurse.

Legally only people with human physiotherapy degrees that are also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) can called themselves physiotherapists/physios. However, this is not the same with the veterinary industry, there is currently no legal legislation to protect the titles of veterinary physiotherapists. People with any level of qualifications including those that do not have any, can call themselves any version of the term of animal physiotherapist. This is why it’s so important to understand what qualifications your animal professionals have. Hence why I am a member of RAMP and have always been open regarding my qualifications. If you did want to know more about them, please feel free to check them out on my website. I’ve linked it below.

I absolutely adore my job being able to help animals maintain their comfort levels particularly in later life. Although, it never gets any easier when their time comes to cross the rainbow bridge. However, having messages like this and seeing the difference of having regular hydro and physio to their quality of life, makes it all worth it.

We’ve had an exciting delivery for me to use within some up coming sessions, can you guess what it is?

For those that don’t know, I am qualified to apply , which is a form of kinesiotape. Now that spring is in sight 🤞🏻I am excited to get back into using it.
Here are some of the reasons why it may be beneficial to be used in combination with other physiotherapy techniques:
📼 Making the body more aware of a particular area to re-educate the body to use themselves more effectively, helping to reduce lameness as a consequence
📼 Reducing/dispersing of fluid build up
📼 Aiding comfort levels

If anyone is interested in learning more or buying some, I do sell the tape, so feel free to talk to me about it during your sessions or drop me a message!

I have officially had my NAVP status renewed for another year, although this will be my first year as a category one member. I have completed over 37 hours of continual professional development over the past year and I am only required to complete 25 hours per year. One of those is an ongoing course I am completing, that I am hoping that I will be able to announce by the end of this year. Thank you for everyone that has supported me over the last year it really means a lot and here’s to more learning and developing this year!

It’s official 🎉 I am now a category one member of NAVP (National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists). All NAVP members start as category two. In order to progress to category one, two case studies about animals you have personally seen and reflected on need to be submitted and passed. I have attached my personal feedback that I have received for my application.

This is one of the ways I am continuing to aid my practice along with other continual professional development.

If you would like to find out more about me and my qualifications, I have a selection linked on my website.

I hope everyone had a lovely new year! I just wanted to let everyone know that I am keeping an eye on the weather. My current plan is carry on with appointments as normal, but I will be closely monitoring the snow and ice. Should the weather become too risky to drive, I will contact those of you that have appointments booked in to reschedule. If there is anyone with particularly bad roads, please let me know in advance of your appointment to help me work out a plan to get to you safely.

That’s a wrap for 2025. I wanted to say a massive thank you for all the support from everyone over the last 12 months. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I look forward to seeing you in the new year.

From Friday 2nd Jan I will be back open with my normal hours. I will still be monitoring messages over the holiday, but please bear with me as it won’t be as frequent as normal.
