One of the biggest misconceptions in raw feeding is that “80/10/10” automatically means a food is complete and balanced.

It doesn’t.

80/10/10 simply refers to the ratio of:
🥩 80% meat
🦴 10% bone
🫀 10% offal

While this can be a fantastic base for raw feeding, ratios alone do NOT confirm that a food contains all the vitamins, minerals and trace nutrients dogs need long term.

This is why understanding labels matters.

A genuinely complete raw food should ideally include:
✔️ A recognised nutritional compliance statement (such as FEDIAF guidelines in the UK/EU)
✔️ A full analytical breakdown
✔️ Clearly formulated ingredients, vitamins and minerals to support balanced nutrition

At our shop, we only stock brands we trust — ProDog Raw and Nutriment — because transparency and nutritional formulation matter to us.
