You are invited to join the dook club community on Sunday the 26th January to celebrate 5 years of dook club. Yes, you read that right, this little club has been going for 5 years and we think that's something to shout about!!

Of Course this book club wouldn't be what it is today without our passionate volunteers & our wonderful dook club members.

Therefore we've organised a dook club birthday bash in the downstairs private area at Esquires, Hanely between 10:30am -12:30pm on Sunday the 26th January.

There will be discounts for ticket holders on drinks & food. It wouldn’t be a party without party bags too which will have some special dooker gifts. There will also be a party game or two & of course there will be cake!

We just want to say a big, massive thank you to this amazing community for a magical 2024! 🧡🧡

We have welcomed so many new dookers, successfully (re) launched back in Leek & our founder has even brought into the world the smallest dooker we have 🥺

Whilst Kirsty has been off with the littlest dooker, the incredible hosts have stepped up & kept the meetings running so we haven't missed a single meeting! We are so grateful for them!

And of course, to the dookers that come back month after month, to the ones that pop in when they can & the ones who have just joined us, we just adore seeing you & hearing about what you've been reading, listening to & watching 🥹

Here's to an amazing 2025 & many MANY more books 🧡✨️🥳

Forcast rain this week, again?! Don't worry, it's a double dook week! 🧡📚

We will be at BottleCraft on Thursday, 1st August. Come join us, drink a cheeky beverage & chat books.

We will also be at the stunning OOAKK on Saturday, 3rd August. There will be coffees, cakes & books! Leek also has great charity shops for a little book shop afterwards 🤭

🗓️ Happy Volunteers Week 2024! 🎉

Today, I want to celebrate my incredible friend Kirsty Nicol and the remarkable community she has built with Dook Club. 📚✨

Four years ago, Kirsty, a dyslexic herself, founded Dook Club in Stoke on Trent—a book club with a difference. Dook Club is dyslexic friendly and neurodiverse inclusive, and you don't have to all read the same book to join in the fun! This inclusive format has made the club a lifeline for many, providing a safe space where like-minded individuals can come together to embrace their inner book nerd and talk all things book-related.

The club's popularity has soared thanks to its welcoming values and innovative approach. It's not just Kirsty's dedication that makes this possible; she's now supported by an amazing team of volunteers who contribute their time and skills to ensure the club's success. From event planning and hosting to marketing, design, safeguarding, and inclusion, these volunteers are the backbone of Dook Club.

This post is a heartfelt celebration and appreciation to Kirsty and of all those who volunteer their time to make our community thrive. Thank you for your commitment and passion—projects like Dook Club wouldn't be the same without you! 🙌
