The luxury life of a dog walker
The day started off so well, a couple of lovely pet home visits, the weather not great but not the worst, feeling pretty productive for the day ahead. Then, I headed off with Sookie to meet the dog walker, Amy, with Dudley and Edwin, for a new walk Iโd never done before.
Mistake number one.
Within about 30 seconds of arriving, Dudley decided to express his love by wrapping himself around my legs like a furry trip hazard and sent me flying, straight into the mud. Whilst I was trying to untangle myself from a very pleased Dudley, Amy somehow ended up on the floor with me too.
Meanwhile Sookie, Edwin and Dudley stood there like,โAre these humans okayโฆ orโฆ?โ
So, now thoroughly muddy but pretending this was all part of the plan, we set off on our walk.
When we returned, things got even better, the work van was completely stuck in the mud. We tried pushing. We tried rocking. We tried standing around pretending we knew what we were doing.
Eventually we accepted defeat and flagged down two tractors and a joiner (because having a family full of joiners has taught me if they don't have it in the back of their van, it ain't worth having).
After explaining that two dog walkers, 3 dogs and one very sad van were in desperate need of rescue, they came to our aid.
The dogs were in their element. Sookie made friends with the tractor man, clearly supervising the whole operation. Between them, they managed to free the van, but not before Amy gave it one final push, the van lurched backward, and she went face first into the mud for the second time.
Graceful.
After lots of thanks, a lot of laughing, and even more mud, we all finally went our separate ways to carry on with our day.
Just another glamorous day running a pet business ๐พ๐๐
A massive thanks to the people that stopped and helped, if anyone knows who they are off the picture (I didn't manage to get their names) please let me know so I can thank them again ๐งก
