I have a number of nervous dogs on my books, and I often feel they don’t get the recognition they deserve. They may find grooming overwhelming, but they try their best — and that deserves just as much praise as any perfectly behaved pup. Being a dog groomer isn’t always easy, and the reality is some dogs simply don’t enjoy the process. That’s why it’s so important to meet them with kindness and patience every step of the way.

This is where desensitisation sessions can make a real difference. These shorter, gentle visits allow your dog to get used to the sights, sounds, and handling involved in grooming at their own pace — without the pressure of a full groom.

Over time, this helps build trust, reduce anxiety, and create a much more positive experience for your pet. Our goal is always to make grooming as calm and stress-free as possible.
