📚🐴 CPD Day at B&W Equine Vets 🐴📚

Today I’m doing a Continued Professional Development (CPD) day at B&W Equine Vets, focusing on lameness work-ups.

Looking at gait assessment, diagnostic imaging, and the use of the Lameness Locator, a highly sensitive tool that measures subtle asymmetries in a horse’s movement to support accurate diagnosis. It’s a great opportunity to refresh skills, share knowledge, and stay up to date with the latest approaches in equine lameness investigations for one of my clients.

Continuous learning ensures we give every horse the best possible care. 💙🐎

A very clear example of how shoeing can positively affect the posture of a horse. Roo has been barefoot for years but after experiencing some issues in his way of going the decision was made with the influence of vets to shoe him so that he could strengthen and continue his rehab without the worry of sore unstable feet. The difference in his posture has been remarkable and hopefully now Roo will be well on his way back to having fun with his owner. It's important to always treat horses for their individual needs. We wish Roo a very happy and healthy future.

Post van, lives to fight another day but could do with a bath. We are back on the road 🎉🎉, appointments will be caught up with this week just bare with me. Big thanks to Ian Burnell Mechanical services for getting me back on the road so quickly.

The difference in this horse's feet over a couple of sets has been remarkable. Ponders the question were side clips the problem ? The first picture was the first time I'd met the horse and the second was its most recent shoeing. So interesting to see how feet change and develop over time.
