Shedfield Riding-School Equestrian centre with livery yard, arenas and working hunter field. We offer DIY as well as full and part-time livery.

We also host dressage & show jumping events and shows - all bookable on MRL. 💜 Here at Shedfield Riding School, we are a small & dedicated team with a passion to teach. We teach all abilities and ages from 4 upwards. We are a registered RDA centre and also hold Pony club every weekend. Our site houses numerous horses that are suitable for all different ability of rider. We have an indoor school, outdoor school and a working hunter field. Our 7 day full livery packages give you complete peace of mind for just £675 per calendar month:

Full livery (straw):
✔️ Turn out and bring in (7 days)
✔️ Rug change (am & pm)
✔️ Feeding (am & pm)
✔️ Full muck out (7 days)
✔️ Picking out of hooves
✔️ Daily groom (using your brushes/products)
✔️ Straw bedding (ad-lib)
✔️ Hay or haylage (ad-lib)
✔️ 2 tokens per week for hot wash/solarium
✔️ Holding for farrier/vet appointment
✔️ 2 exercise sessions per week (20 min lunge / 30 min hack / 30 min schooling)

Full livery (shavings)
All of the above, with shavings bedding included (1 bale per week – extras at livery's own cost).

Here he is...Hero, our 15hh, 11-year-old trotter cross with a heart of gold. Strong in the school, quick across country, tidy in the ring for show jumping, dressage and showing. He’s taken riders from first canter to one day events.

Good to shoe, clip, bath and load. Loves attention and can be handled by all. If your checklist includes all the above then he ticks the lot. ✅ Cape not included. 😉

We’re so proud to welcome Debbie Baker as our first approved instructor* at Shedfield.

With over 30 years’ experience teaching and competing at the highest level – including wins at HOYS and Olympia, Debbie brings exceptional knowledge and skill to every lesson.

A natural confidence-giver, she works with all abilities, from complete beginners to competitive riders, including autistic riders. Whether you want to improve stride length, sharpen ringcraft, or achieve competition results, Debbie can help you get there.

Debbie is fully safeguarding and first-aid trained, and has over 25 years’ judging experience in M&M, Cobs, Traditionals, and both in-hand and ridden classes.

Many of you will already know her from Shedfield Riding School, where she’s always been a popular and highly respected instructor.

🌟 Two of our biggest stars are ready for their next adventure – could it be with you? 🌟

We’ve had a couple of nightmare weeks with our internet and phones – so if you’ve tried to get in touch and not heard back, please do try again. We promise we’re not ignoring you!

This post is all about Lydia (pictured top) and Major – two absolute treasures who are ready to find their special someone.

🐴 Lydia (Lydican Patchwork)

Lydia is a 16.1hh, 15-year-old Irish mare who has been a star in our riding school for many years. She’s the kind of horse everyone dreams of riding – safe, skilled, and willing to give anything a go.

She:

Shines in jumping and has a fantastic attitude

Hacks happily alone or in company and is brilliant in traffic

Works well on the flat, and has started lateral work and is very trainable.

Has done drill rides, mounted games, XC, beach rides, New Forest hacks, and competitions on and off site

Loads and travels in trailer or lorry with no fuss

Is good to bath, clip, and handle

🐴 Major

Major is a 15.2hh piebald, 18-year-old heavyweight cob gelding. He came to us after a successful career as a breeding stallion and quickly became a firm favourite.

He:

Is a brilliant driving horse

Leads most of our hacks and is totally bombproof in traffic

Has the kindest nature and is loved by everyone

Is easy to handle in all ways… though he’d rather skip the bath if given the choice!

Our Story

We are a riding school, event & livery yard. We are lucky enough to have excellent facilities including a 50 x 30 metre indoor arena, large floodlit outdoor arena and an enclosed working hunter field.

We cater for all riders, from the age of 2.5 years. Whether you are a complete beginner or a more advanced rider we can offer you challenging lessons to help you develop your riding skills.

We offer pony rides, private, semi-private and group lessons, 7 days a week, all taught by BHS approved instructors. Prices start from as little as £10.

We also offer pony parties and pony care sessions & teddy bears’ picnics throughout the school holidays.
