Thank you again to everyone who came to our pet loss walk. We’re thinking about organising another one in the future, so if it’s something you’d be interested in joining, let us know ❤️🐾

What a beautiful sunny morning for our walk last Sunday (and thankfully not too hot!) ☀️

Melissa The Roaming Vet and I would just like to thank everyone who came along. We hope you all found moments of connection and comfort with others who truly understand the difficult experience of losing a pet ❤️

And for any pet owners in the Skipton area, Melissa offers such wonderful, supportive care for both you and your pet. She visits you at home, where your pet feels most comfortable, and provides such a compassionate and thoughtful service.

One week to go!

Melissa The Roaming Vet and I can’t wait to see you all next week 🐾💚

Just a little reminder to bring:
💧 A drink
👟 Comfy clothing & suitable footwear
☀️ Suncream/hat if it’s warm
🌧️ A raincoat or umbrella just in case… British weather and all that 😂

The weather is looking hopeful at the moment 🤞 but we’ll update everyone closer to the time if needed.

You’re also very welcome to bring anything that brings you comfort, as sometimes talking about or reminiscing about our pets can bring a lot up 💛

We’re really looking forward to seeing you all!

🐾 Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) for Pet Travel 🐾

I’ve had lots of recent enquiries about Animal Health Certificates, so I wanted to share that I am an Official Veterinarian (OV) authorised to issue AHCs for pets travelling abroad.

Being an Official Veterinarian means I have completed additional government-approved training and certification, allowing me to carry out the checks and paperwork required for pets travelling to the EU and other countries.

As a mobile vet, I can carry out the required checks in your own home, making the process as stress-free as possible for all of you.

My AHC prices start from £175 for one pet, with additional pets at a reduced rate.

If you’re planning to travel with your pet, please get in touch well in advance of your departure date to ensure everything is completed on time. Any questions please feel free to reach out 😊

Losing a pet is one of the hardest things we go through, and it can often feel like you’re grieving alone 🤍

As a mobile vet, I’ve had the privilege of caring for so many beloved animals and supporting their families through difficult goodbyes. It’s made me realise just how important it is to have a space to talk, share, and simply be around others who understand.

I’m organising a gentle community walk for anyone who has experienced the loss of a pet.

📅 Sunday 24th May

A chance to come together, chat if you’d like to, or just walk quietly alongside others who understand what you’re going through.

This is open to absolutely anyone - whether your loss was recent or many years ago, and whether or not you’ve been a client of mine.

A qualified counsellor will also be joining us to offer support in a relaxed and informal way - TreeHouse Wellbeing and Counselling.

This won’t be anything formal - just a safe, compassionate space to connect, remember, and support one another 🐾

If you’d be interested in coming along, please comment below or send me a message so I can get an idea of numbers. Walk location to be determined but will be around Skipton area.

You’re not alone 💛

✨ What a day at The Keighley Canine Collective! ✨

Sometimes the magic isn’t just in the dogs… it’s in the people behind the scenes too 💫

Today was one of those days.

A brilliant catch-up with
🐾 Hannah from Dash’s Den (who is absolutely smashing her first week!)
🐾 Kay from KayNine Training
🐾 Paul from Clever K9s
🐾 Zoe from Dog Behaviour Help

…which turned into a table FULL of ideas, plans, and “what if we did this…” moments 👀

And then - just when we thought it couldn’t get any better…

A meeting with the amazing Melissa, who is The Roaming Vet 🐶💙

Let’s just say… the future of the Collective is looking BIG, BOLD, and incredibly exciting.

Watch this space. Seriously.

Because what we’re building here isn’t just a training space…
It’s something so much more.

And the best part?

🐶 A full day of puppies tomorrow
👣 Mantrailing adventures on Sunday

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

🦷✨ It’s Dental Health Month! ✨🦷

Daily brushing is one of the best things you can do at home to protect your pet’s teeth.

✔️ Use pet-safe toothpaste
✔️ Start slow and make it positive
✔️ Aim for daily brushing (even 3x/week helps!)
✔️ Focus on the outer surfaces of the teeth

Small breeds, older pets, genetics, and certain health conditions can all increase the risk of tartar buildup, which is why prevention matters so much.

Those few minutes of brushing each day can make a huge difference in your pet’s comfort and long-term health.

Have questions about brushing or your pet’s dental health? Drop them below or ask me at your next visit 🐶🐱🪥
