ed and cared for and happy whilst you have to leave them for any reason. I will ensure that your pets are fed, watered and have their required exercise prior to returning them to their current home. During my childhood we had many different pets including a variety of different dogs making me extremely comfortable around dogs of all sizes. A few of the dogs that I was brought up around, were working dogs and therefore I am comfortable with the complexities that arise with these types of pets. I currently own 2 Labradors who are my pride and joy and are valued members of my family. I offer a professional and dedicated service, but I also understand that I will not just be looking after your pet, but also making sure that your home is secure once your family has been returned safe and sound. You can have peace of mind by using a national company that is recognised as the UK’s leading provider of home from home and in your home care pet services. At Petpals Sidcup I am fully trained, security checked, pet first aid trained, uniformed and insured. I drive around in a branded van with professionally fitted, padlocked cages and can offer a premium pet care service that can be tailored to yours and your pets needs. Services that I am currently able to offer are; dog walking (either solo walks or in a group), dog sitting, cat sitting, puppy visits, older dog visits, pet taxi (either to the groomers or vets) and soon I will be able to offer home boarding.

🌿 Wishing you a very happy Spring Bank Holiday weekend from all of us at Petpals! 🌿

With a warm spell and even a possible heatwave on the cards, it looks set to be one of those weekends where we need to keep a close eye on our pets as well as enjoying the extra day off ☀️🐾

However you’re spending it — relaxing at home, catching up with friends and family, or enjoying some time in the garden — we hope you make the most of the long weekend safely, whatever the weather brings 🌼

As temperatures rise, here are a few simple pet safety reminders to keep in mind:

🐶 Avoid walking dogs during the hottest parts of the day — early mornings and evenings are best
💧 Always ensure plenty of fresh, cool water is available (and topped up regularly)
🌳 Provide shade if pets are outside, and avoid leaving them in conservatories or cars at any time
🍗 Keep BBQ food, picnic snacks and drinks safely out of reach
🌿 Be mindful of hot pavements and seasonal plants that may be harmful or irritating to pets
🚨 If a pet shows signs of overheating, cool them down immediately and seek veterinary advice promptly — remember: “wet then vet”

A scorching Spring Bank Holiday weekend is on the way across the UK, so now is the time to take extra care with our pets in the heat. ☀️🐾

Keep these simple tips in mind:

💧Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water (indoors and outdoors if needed)
🌳Stick to shaded areas and avoid walking pets during the hottest parts of the day
🐾 Check pavements before walks — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
⚠️Watch closely for signs of overheating such as heavy panting, drooling or lethargy
🔥Keep activity calm and minimal during peak temperatures

If your pet is overheating or you believe they have heatstroke, act quickly: cool them down immediately and contact your vet without delay.

Remember: “Wet then vet” — cooling comes first, then veterinary help straight away.
