Ok, so I may be slightly in love. This is Stanley the GSDxBorder Collie, a big bundle of intelligent energy (the black one) and his buddy Bert. I went to meet Stanley as his energy is causing issues for his owners on walks, which leads to misunderstanding his intentions towards other dogs. The collie runs strong in this boy, so I am hopeful with a few adjustments to help with his control, and his energy needs that he will be able to introduce himself properly to the other dogs that he desperately wants to play with!

So this is wee Bessie, and what a little bundle of fun she is going to be! Bessie has only been in her new home for four weeks so is still in the settling down stage. Her owners asked for help as she would not go for walks and as we don’t know much of her background we thought it could be a lack of socialisation at a crucial age. However, after working on her confidence a bit before trying, we attempted a walk……..and she loved it! Had very little problems going round the block and she was as chuffed as we were when she got home. Then she got braver and played with a snuffle mat which she didn’t look at before the walk. When I left she was fighting to keep her eyes open! I have high hopes that this is not a socialisation problem, but insecurity due to being in a new home and not fully understanding what is expected of her as yet. Happy walking Bessie!

Look who has her collar on! This is Dotty, very newly taken on by her owner who has been unable to get a collar and lead on. Not knowing her background, we had to give her the benefit of the doubt and treat her as if she had never had one on before. With much patience and trial and error, we found her weakness........while her owner kept her engrossed with tiny bits of cheese, I was able to get her collar on, and adjust it to size, much to everyone's relief! Now we just have to get her down the stairs............!

'Just wanted to show you our progress with HETTIE our flat coat that you helped us with . We can now walk to heel on a slip lead , pass people and dogs in the street without any reaction from her and now so confident with her we can play in the park with other dogs about and she takes no notice !

Hi folks, I am pleased to introduce you to Lionel who I met this week! I will be working with Lionel and his owner for a while to help with his reactivity to certain dogs which is not severe, but does need addressing. We will also at some point be helping him with his dislike of the vets! I have high hopes for this lad, as he is very bright and very trainable. Good luck Lionel!

So this is Womble, who I met days before lockdown. Womble doesn't seem to have an 'off' switch at the moment, which is partly due to the spaniel side of his breeding. We have already been able to improve his walks,and now we have started clicker training to help him to focus on his owners so they can guide him away from his unwanted compulsive behaviours. He has a long way to go, but I am very hopeful for this boy as he is super bright!
