Trained in animal communication and feline/canine first aid. Hi I am Amanda, I have been a proud cat owner for 46 years and animals are my passion. I have worked with animals for 15 years - with rescue centres and through pet sitting and dog walking. I have recently moved to Shepton Mallet and am looking to help pet owners in my locality who want to leave their furry family member in safe loving h

ands. I am trained in canine/feline first aid, animal communication and animal behaviour. I have extensive experience with most breeds and have worked in training and rehabilitating even the most nervous animals. I also support rehoming cats and dogs from war zones across the globe (and in the UK). Cats are very territorial creatures and dogs find comfort in the smell of what they know. They will always be happier in their home environment. Animals read energy so tend to sense your stress at leaving them with someone or somewhere you're unsure of. I take that stress away. Animal welfare is at the heart of what I do - if your cat is shy or wary of strangers we give them the space they need to feel comfortable, and likewise if your cat loves a cuddle, we are there to offer that too! The service is tailored to what your pet wants when I'm with them in real time. I work to your needs.. either videos and photos every five minutes or I'll leave you alone for the duration of your time away - you're the boss (or rather your furry friend is).

Last walk of the day and the most crazy amount of rain.

These two didn’t care - in fact they loved having all the fields to themselves.

A beautiful day training Rocky the puppy and Max who is still on a post birthday high!

Never many photos when I’m puppy training or if walking more than one dog as I need two hands at all times. Safety before photography!

One of our volunteers has scanned a fluffy black cat in Cornwall Road, Shepton but found no chip. There’s a possibility the cat may belong to someone who is sofa surfing and we would very much like to speak to them. If you know them please ask them to message us. We tried to paper collar the cat but they weren’t having any of it!
Not everyone is aware that it is now the law to microchip your cats. Do keep spreading the word.

My neighbours two cheeky German pointers Mya and Indy that gallop around for an entire hour with me.

We always bump into two black and white English pointers on route so there’s always an England v Germany chase and play each time.

3pm is such a lovely time to walk in winter - low sunshine and long shadows.

A lovely long weekend with Freddie and Frank.

Not much bed space for me each night but it’s a small price to pay when waking up to these wet noses.

Make a warm house for strays out of things you have lying around..

Wish I could adopt them all but I can’t and shelters are always running out of space.

Really handy to do this especially if you live in areas where there are lots of stray colonies. Remember to put straw not blankets in the cat house as it won’t freeze

An easy guide to creating a shelter for outdoor cats to protect them from the wind and rain.

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED IN LONDON

This poor friendly tomcat is struggling to survive on the streets and is deteriorating fast. We have nowhere to put him. At Protected Paws, we take in the unwanted, the unloved, and the injured and we desperately want to help him.

We are planning to name him Eamon when he comes into our care. He is elderly, vulnerable, and will face a miserable death if we cannot get him to safety.

Please, help us find him a foster place.
We cover all vet bills and we have an amazing support network to guide you every step of the way.

Don’t let him suffer alone, cold, and scared.

Please apply to foster

If you wish to foster please fill in application

Sponsor a pup if you can. Puppy season is al year round in Bansko Bulgaria. People are dumping puppies quicker than rescues can pick them up….and if you didn’t know bansko is a ski destination so the heavy snow falls between now and march. They can’t survive out there

This beautiful boy is so soppy. He grew lots bigger than expected (like many rescue mixed breeds) so often when he barks he seems scarier than he is.

I only have him and his spaniel cousin for a weekend but we’re working on his barking at passing dogs with positive reinforcement.

Already he’s seeming a little more chilled at the window traffic - really happy.

Wow today has been terrible rain. So many puppies I’m working with hate the rain (especially if windy). There’s been lots of indoor play and other dry fun for many.

Some of my mature dogs however, they love puddle stomping and drinking from the sky! This week has been a very muddy one which the child in me loves - nobody to tell me off for having mud up to my neck as an adult 🐶 ☔️

A busy muddy few days for the dogs of Shepton but they care not!

I actually enjoy the moody skies and low winter sunshine.

Tomorrow sees a day sit, Thursday regular walkies then a weekend sit with two newbies in Oakhilll.

Thanks so much for your continued support and trusting me with your furry family
