Please read - behind the scenes update 🐈
We’ve had a lot of enquiries lately so I wanted to share a little bit about how the rescue operates and what you can expect if you get in touch.
To give you an idea of the reality of running the rescue, the administrative work is currently handled by just one person who also has a full time job. Most of what I'm doing - answering emails, vetting adoption applications, coordinating vet appointments, and trying to raise some money for us on the side - takes place during my lunch breaks, my evenings, and over the weekend.
I'm supported by a wonderful group of foster volunteers who provide the care and love the cats at the rescue deserve, but we have limited space and often have to put cats on a waiting list. We prioritise by need, and whilst we wish we could help everyone immediately, this is just not possible. Ask any cat rescue in the UK and they'll tell you the same thing - we're all full to bursting and it doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon.
Because we're a small and growing rescue, it may take us a few days to get back to your messages or process an application. We aren't ignoring you - we're likely stocking up on litter or ferrying some grumpy cats to the vets!
If you're interested in helping out, you're in luck! We're currently on the search for more volunteers, from fosterers to fundraisers. More details can be found using the link in our bio.
Thank you for sticking with us. We're so grateful for this community and your support is invaluable. Every share, every donation, and every "thank you" keeps us going as we help improve the lives of cats in Selby. 🧡
