Handsome Reggie, a gorgeous one year old working line Labrador. Reggie struggles with controlling his big emotions sometimes but his lovely owners have been working hard on all things impulse control these past few months. He now walks beautifully on lead and recalls away from distractions on his walks ✨🐾

Last weekend, we practiced taking Reggie to a cafe to work on some settling behaviour. It was a very sunny, busy Saturday morning which meant he had to contend with a lot of exciting distractions like walkers, families with young children and doggies of all sorts of shapes and sizes 😧 A few months ago, this sort of environment would have blown Reggie’s brain, but he absolutely smashed it and coped very well with settling in the cafe as well as practicing his walking down the bush Ditchling high street 🦮🐾

The next steps for Reggie will be continuing his settling training in different environments and building his confidence, as at the moment he can find busy places a bit scary! ❤️

If your dog struggles with settling, or you’d like to improve their loose lead walking or recall, feel free to get in touch with me on WhatsApp- 07311282549 or via email [email protected] 📩

Let’s talk Christmas!

Just a heads up, my last working day will be Tuesday 23rd. I will then be unavailable until week commencing January 5th and will be uncontactable during this time unless you are in need of urgent behavioural advice.

If you do need behavioural advice over the Christmas period, the best way to contact me is by text or WhatsApp on 07311282549.

I find I receive the majority of my behaviour and training enquiries promptly after Christmas! This is because most behaviour and training problems quickly become apparent to dog owners when they are having big family gatherings 🙈 If you think your dog may struggle with settling over Christmas, it’s better to get in touch now rather than hoping your dog might be okay! I do still have availability for 121 sessions before the 23rd 😊🐾

For anyone interested in classes in the new year, just a reminder the next set of puppy and adolescent classes won’t be starting until February 17th. However, I am hoping to offer some trick training workshops and puppy socials in the meantime so do keep your eye on the page for details on those! 😊❄️

To everyone signed up for trick training workshop!

I promise I will be in touch tomorrow with the class joining instructions 🥰

I’m really swamped in uni work at the moment which has pushed admin work onto the back burner at the moment. So a big thank you to everyone for being so patient and understanding- I really appreciate it ❤️

I’m so excited to see you all and your amazing doggies for an evening of fun soon🐾❤️

Sniffing is vital for our dogs — it taps into their natural scavenging instincts, helps them relax, and gives their brains a real workout. I’d recommend taking time on your walk to stop and stand still in certain areas to really encourage your dog to have a good sniff and explore for at least 5-10 minutes. It’s a great time for you to stop, take in a good breath and admire your surroundings too!

If your dog is like my Black and Tan spaniel (who just stares at me waiting for instructions!) you can encourage foraging by tossing a small handful of treats behind them and letting them sniff them out. Once they get the hang of it, try practising in trickier spots like long grass or undergrowth for an extra challenge.

Happy sniffing! 🐾

Gorgeous Murphy, the 6-month-old Irish Setter, has been struggling with staying calm around visitors at home and staying focused on walks — completely normal for an adolescent dog! By working on training that builds impulse control and giving Murphy activities that engage his brain and tap into his natural breed traits, he’s already well on his way to becoming a more focused pup — both for the people around him and for himself.

If you’re struggling with your pup’s behaviour during the challenging adolescent period, looking for ways to tune into their breed makeup or even build your dog’s confidence in certain situations they might currently struggle in, please feel free to reach out.

As a degree qualified dog trainer, with experience and expertise working with high energy breeds, I’d be more than happy to help you and your dog on your way to living your best life together 🐾

Lovely Alfie and Lola smashing their loose lead walking in last week’s Adolescent & Beyond class. I’m so proud of the progress from this class. Most of the doggies attending really struggled being in close proximity to each other at the beginning of the course and now, after a few weeks of hard work, they are all able to train in close proximity to one another 🐾

Due to personal circumstances I have been quite behind on admin this week. I am really sorry for the inconvenience. If you have sent an enquiry or awaiting for me to get back to you about something, please be reassured I will get back to you tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Tuesday morning walks are the best! 🍁

I do still have walking availability for a solo or group dog walk on a Tuesday 11:00-12:00 in the Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath area. Perfect for breaking up the day for your doggie whilst you’re at work! 🐾

Lovely Bobby the 7 month old Lab x Golden Retriever practicing his stay around the distraction of other dogs during last week’s Adolescent & Beyond class! This exercise is wonderful for developing your dog’s impulse control, which helps with reducing inappropriate behaviour caused by frustration and overstimulation- such as lungeing or barking at distractions. It is also a great behaviour to utilise as a safety aspect- for example, when going in and out of your front door 🐾
