Meet Dolly!

Dolly came to see us as she started sneezing violently after a walk. She was still her energetic puppy-self and it hasn’t stopped her from zooming around but she just couldn’t stop sneezing.

We anaesthetised Dolly and scoped her nose. Et voila! There was a huge grass seed stuck quite deep in her left nostril which we were able to remove! Hopefully she feels much more comfortable now and less sneezy 😀

Grass seed is common finding this time of the year especially if you walk your dog in long grass. Symptoms are usually acute/sudden for example non-stop sneezing if the seed is up the nose, constant head shaking or scratching if it’s in the ear or it could also be a lump in the paw. Make sure to check your dogs for grass seeds after walks and to get them seen if you are seeing signs of discomfort.

We know how much you love your pets and we take special care to make sure that they receive the highest quality veterinary care available.Our fabulous Cheshirepet clinics are on Alsager Road in Winterley, and Vicarage Lane in Elworth. Both are easy to get to and have plenty of parking. The team are all animal lovers, with a wealth of different pets between us and we genuinely care for your pet, just as you would.

Every new client that registers a healthy pet will get a free health check-up with one of our qualified nurses. Our nurses also regularly hold a number of different health clinics. Our feline veterinarian Laura (Advanced practitioner in feline Medicine) runs a Cat Clinic at Winterley on Mondays from 12:30pm – 2:00pm, where we keep dogs appointments to a minimum (this is complimented by a cat friendly waiting area) and a 1-2-1 nurse clinic to go through advice on how to look after your new pet. Both the Winterley and the Elworth clinic have been awarded the ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic Silver Standard status.

We will help you to look after your pet from preventative care such as vaccinations, flea treatment and worming through to emergency care and offer advice and support on an assortment of subjects such as youngsters, dental hygiene and senior pets.
