🏡 A little update from me…

After a lot of thought, I’m excited (and slightly emotional!) to share that I’ll be moving house soon! I’ll be relocating from Salford to Horwich. ❤️

This does mean that my pet sitting service will be changing a little. I’ll still be offering pet sitting after the move, but my main service area will be around Horwich and the surrounding areas, so unfortunately I won’t be able to continue taking regular bookings as far away as I currently do.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted me with your pets since I started pet sitting. From my very first private booking to all the repeat clients, referrals and lovely reviews, you’ve helped me build something that I never expected to grow this much. 🥹🐾

Moving away from Salford is definitely bittersweet, especially knowing I’ll be saying goodbye to so many of my little clients. I’ll miss seeing them (and their humans!) very much. ❤️

For my existing clients, I’ll be getting in touch individually over the coming weeks to let you know how the move may affect future bookings.

Happy International Cat Day! 🐱💛

Every cat I meet has their own unique personality, and it's such a privilege to earn their trust and care for them while their humans are away.

🐾 It's often the little things that matter most in pet sitting.

Checking the water bowl before leaving. ✅

Making sure the door is securely locked. ✅

Sending one last photo so an owner knows their pet is happy. ✅

Following a routine exactly as discussed. ✅

None of these are particularly exciting, but they're the small details that help pets feel comfortable and owners feel reassured.

Sometimes it's the simplest things that make the biggest difference.

☀️ Heatwaves can be dangerous for our pets 🐾

A gentle reminder to all pet parents: 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵, 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆.

Here are some simple and effective ways to help pets stay hydrated during hot weather:

💧 Keep multiple bowls of fresh, cool water around the house and refill them often.
🧊 Add a few ice cubes to their water to keep it cool longer (if your pet enjoys it).
🥣 Use ceramic or stainless steel bowls, which help keep water cooler than plastic.
🏠 Place water bowls in shaded, easily accessible spots.
🐾 Offer wet food or add a little water or low-sodium pet-safe broth to their meals (check with your veterinarian if your pet has dietary restrictions).
🚰 Consider a pet water fountain—many cats and some dogs drink more from moving water.
🚶 Walk dogs during the early morning or late evening, and bring water on every outing.
❄️ Keep your home cool with fans or air conditioning, and ensure pets have a comfortable place to rest.

Hydration isn't just important—it's lifesaving. Let's keep our furry friends safe, cool, and happy this summer. 💙🐶🐱

🦜 Guess who's on my schedule again...

One of my lovely repeat clients, Merlin, the parrot! 💚

One of the nicest parts of pet sitting is getting to see familiar faces (and feathers!) again. It's always lovely when a pet remembers you and settles back into their usual routine.

Every pet has their own personality, and Merlin certainly has plenty of his own! I'm looking forward to catching up with him over the next few days.

🐾 June has been a busy one.

Between pet sitting bookings and other work commitments, I've found myself spending more time on trams, checking my calendar, and planning routes than I'd like to admit!

One thing I've noticed this month is that I haven't spent much time promoting my services at all. Instead, I've simply been focusing on caring for pets, keeping owners updated, and making sure every booking runs smoothly.

I'm genuinely grateful that so many people have trusted me with their pets, and even more grateful that I've been able to balance everything and keep doing something I really enjoy.

Now that summer is getting underway, I'm looking forward to meeting more lovely pets, seeing some familiar faces again, and helping owners enjoy their holidays with peace of mind 🐱🐶🐾

🐾 Pet Sitting Myth: "Cats only need feeding"

Cats are often seen as independent pets, but good pet care is about much more than putting food in a bowl.

Every visit includes checking on your cat's wellbeing and making sure everything seems normal.

That might mean:
🐱 Noticing changes in behaviour or appetite
💧 Checking food and water
🧹 Cleaning litter trays
🎾 Providing playtime or enrichment
❤️ Offering company (for cats who want it!)

Some cats want lots of attention, while others prefer their personal space — part of pet sitting is understanding and respecting those differences.

Every cat is an individual, and their care should reflect that.

🐾 A day in the life of a pet sitter

People often see the photos and updates, but there's quite a lot happening behind the scenes too!

My days recently have looked something like this:

🐱 1–2 morning cat visits
🐶 A lunchtime dog walk
🚶 Travelling between different areas of Salford and Manchester
📸 Sending updates and photos to owners
📅 Planning routes and upcoming bookings
☕ Fitting everything around public transport and the occasional Manchester weather surprise

No two days are ever quite the same.

One day I might be caring for a shy cat who prefers quiet company, while the next I'm keeping up with an energetic dog who wants to explore every interesting smell along the way!

It's one of the things I enjoy most about pet sitting — every pet has their own routine and personality, and getting to know them is always the best part of the job 🐱🐶🐾
