Could Gin be the tonic you are looking for?

Gin is a 9yr old cocker spaniel, he is castrated, fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea and wormed. He has had a dental and has a clean bill of health and he will be rehomed with 5 weeks free insurance.
Gin came to us from another rescue who asked for help, he had been rehomed by them but sadly the home was much too busy for him and he needed to be returned but they had nowhere for him to go.
Gin settled in with us really easily, he has joined a large pack of dogs here and is great with everyone. He is the kind of dog who will mix easily with other dogs but isn't really bothered by interacting with them, so he can live as an only dog or with another mature laid back dog that isnt going to pester him.
Gins former home was a busy home with lots of children coming and going, as the months went by he became increasingly anxious and this started to manifest into guarding some toys, socks etc as a way of coping. He attached himself to the lady of the home and would seek reassurance from her by clambering onto her when things got noisy. There was an isolated bite to the husband when Gin was startled whilst sitting on the sofa with the lady but it really wasn't his fault. We have seen no sign of these issues with us.
Gin is a typical playful spaniel, he loves his toys, especially balls and plays great with bringing his ball back in exchange for another. It is so important that a new home understands dog body language and can spot any signs of anxious behaviours/guarding and handle it appropriately so he doesnt get stressed again.
Gin is such a good boy in the home, he is house trained, non destructive, sleeps quietly down stairs at night, knows all his basic commands and is ok being left for a few hours. He eats alongside other dogs and has no issues around food or toys with the other dogs. He walks nicely on the lead, travels well in the car and has good recall.
Gin is seeking a quieter home with just one or two adults who are active and able to provide him with a good level of exercise, we will not rehome him where there are resident children but older sensible dog savvy visiting children would be fine. He can live with another calm, neutered dog, probably best without cats but he is good around horses and livestock. He will suit a more rural/village home with access to nice country walks and where its not too busy or noisy.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, South Derbys but can be rehomed further afield to the right home subject to homecheck and adoption donation of £250.
