Well, I said I wanted rain… and apparently the weather gods took that as a personal challenge. 😂☔️
Absolutely biblical today! I’m pretty sure the reservoirs are now overflowing, the ducks have started looking for higher ground and one of them has probably just texted the estate agent saying, “Any chance of a 3-bed with a garage? I’ve had enough of this rain .” 🦆😂☔️
First walkies with Nel, Luna, Tilly and Dottie started off lovely enough, then the heavens opened and I got absolutely battered. Whatever industrial-strength hair product I’d put on my head decided to migrate directly into my eyeballs, so I was walking around blind, coatless and soaked to the skin. Lovely. First costume change of the day. 👗😂
Second walkies… well, it simply never stopped. We doubled up so there were extra eyes on our new girl Pippa for her first outing, but honestly, I needn’t have worried. She was an absolute superstar and fitted into the gang like she’d been here forever. Rolo immediately appointed himself her new zoomie partner, and the rest of the gang—Nel, Brax, Betty, Albie and Bear—were brilliant with her. ❤️🐾
And then there was Walt’s Wood… EMPTY! Literally just me and Jen in the car park. Where had all the fair-weather walkers disappeared to?! 😂 This place normally has more cars than Tesco on a Saturday.
By now we were wetter than the actual river and looking like a pair of drowned rats, and my phone had apparently decided it was also on strike, hence the rubbish photos. Sorry! 😂
The dogs, however, were having the absolute time of their lives. Puddles? YES. Mud? YES. Empty woods? HELL YES. They were charging about like they’d been released from prison, splashing, rolling, trampling through everything and generally having a right old knees-up. They LOVE it when it’s just us and they can completely let rip. 😂🐾💦
Last up was a very soggy solo with Luna Lab. Nel was supposed to come, but when I went in for costume change number two she took one look at me, legged it into the house and flat-out refused to come back out. 😂
I asked Spicy if he fancied it and he gave me a look that very clearly said, “Piss off, Kate.” So that was a no. 😂
Luna was a very good girl though, and after dropping her home I came back for costume change number THREE. At this point I’m basically Lady Gaga. I’ve worn more clothes today than I normally wear in an entire week. 😂👗👚🧥
Now I’m off for a hot bath before meeting two gorgeous newbies later tonight… and then FOOTBALL again, where I’ll be freezing my arse off for the second night running. 🥶⚽️
Jense has also had Shadow & Ruby out, so there’ll be more soggy doggo pics coming when he eventually sends them. 🐾💕
