Even though the last few days have been cooler,, it is still hot and temperatures are due to start rising again over the coming week. So before heading out for a stroll around Bedfords Park or Harrow Lodge, please remember The 5-Second Rule:๐Ÿ‘‰ Place the back of your hand firmly on the pavement/tarmac for 5 seconds. If itโ€™s too hot for your skin, it is far too hot for your dog's sensitive paws!Top Tips for Hot Days:๐Ÿ•’ Walk early in the morning or late in the evening when the ground cools down.๐Ÿ’ง Keep fresh, cool water available at all times (and throw in a few ice cubes for fun!).๐ŸชŸ Never, ever leave a pet in a parked car, even for a few minutes.Let's look out for all the furry residents in Havering. โณโœจDid you know that Hill Park Vets has been caring for the pets of Harold Hill and Elm Park since 1986?

For 40 years, we have proudly remained a fully independent, family-oriented practice. While the hairstyles, uniforms, and technology have definitely changed since this old photo was taken (swipe to see our wonderful modern team today! โžก๏ธ), one thing has stayed exactly the same: our absolute devotion to your pets. We are so incredibly grateful to the generations of local families who have trusted us with their beloved animals over the decades.๐Ÿ’ญ

Mike is still the practice principle of Hill Park and still sees clients and their pets regularly (although he is no longer on the full-time vet rota!). He enjoys seeing all the patients but has a soft spot for black labradors.

How long have you been bringing your pets to Hill Park Vets? Weโ€™d love to hear your memories or stories in the comments below! ๐Ÿ‘‡โค๏ธ

August is a double-win for pet health at Hill Park Vets! It is both National Immunisation Awareness Month and Itchy Pet Awareness Month. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿพ

With the warm summer weather in full swing across Havering, our independent teams in Harold Hill and Elm Park are busy helping local pets stay protected and comfortable. Here is what you need to look out for this month:

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Immunisation Care: Vaccines are the single most effective way to shield your furry family members from dangerous, preventable diseases like parvovirus, leptospirosis, and cat flu. If your pet has slipped behind on their boosters, let's get them caught up!

๐ŸฆŸ The Summer Itch: Fleas, mites, and seasonal pollen allergies peak right now. If your pet is constantly scratching, licking their paws, or shaking their head, they don't have to suffer. Prescription-strength treatments can stop the itch instantly.

Whether you need to check vaccination records or solve a skin mystery, our friendly clinical teams are right here in your neighborhood.๐Ÿ“ž Call our Romford branch or Elm Park branch today to book a summer wellness check

๐Ÿพ Heading out to one of our beautiful Havering parks this weekend?

๐ŸŒณAs a proud independent practice serving Romford and Elm Park since 1986, we love seeing our local pet community out and about! To keep the walks safe and fun for everyone, here are three quick reminders for park etiquette this season:

1๏ธโƒฃ Watch out for grass seeds: Tall summer grass holds hidden hazards. Arrow-shaped grass seeds can easily pierce your dog's skin or get stuck inside ears and paws. Check their fur thoroughly when you get home!
2๏ธโƒฃ Keep greetings polite: Not every dog wants to make a new friend. Always ask the owner before letting your dog run up to a pet on a lead. They might be recovering from surgery, anxious, or in training.
3๏ธโƒฃ Scoop the p**p: Keeping our parks clean protects wildlife, children, and other pets from harmful parasites like lungworm.

If your pet does pick up an annoying grass seed or needs a parasite check, our team is always here to help at both our Harold Hill and Elm Park branches. ๐Ÿฅโค๏ธ
Have a wonderful weekend walkies! Where is your dogโ€™s absolute favourite spot to explore locally?
