Friday nights are Dog Gym nights! 🥊

🙌 We feel we have come up with a solution some of you may have with your dogs being reactive, anxious or are on the exempt list!

🐾 You can book your dogs onto either gym session and the dogs will enter and work by themselves for their go - like how a round robin would work. One in, one out, next!
This allows anyone whether their dog is good around others or not to be able to attend.
If your dog is muzzled/needs to be muzzled, then this can come straight off once in the studio to work and be placed back on when leaving the studio. Simple!

🐾 Anyone wanting to participate in the AO training which we strongly advise as it compliments the drive work you'll be doing with your dogs nicely - muzzles can remain on while doing this work.
However, anyone who has a dog that doesn't like group training will need to book a private/121 session for this.

What is GRC and why are we bringing drive sports to dogs and handlers in Kent? 😃

GRC Kent is a sport for every breed of dog

When you think of dog sports, what comes to mind?
Agility (border collies)
Scentwork (Labrador’s, spaniels)
Gundog (labs, spaniels, pointers)
Hoopers (border collies)
Flyball (whippet, collies, cross breeds)

At GRC Kent we want to ensure that this remains open to all. Every breed, every dog can take part and enjoy themselves. The goal is to strengthen the bond between dog and owner creating that relationship that lasts.

So what does GRC Stand for?:

Gameness - Building drive and motivation using drive sports like the Springpole but incorporating structure.

Relationship - Strengthening the bond between dog and owner because the more you work and train with your dogs, the more you are naturally strengthening your relationship!

Control - Developing impulse control and advanced obedience around exciting situations and environments.
Wouldn't this be amazing? To have that control and trust in your dog. The aim for any dog owner surely!

GRC isn’t about doing things a certain way and getting those medals. It’s all about building upon your foundations and building yourself up together as a team. Creating balance and neutrality in a whole range of environments and situations

Why GRC Benefits Every Dog

Obedience with Respect - Training your dog doesn’t just stop at the basics of “sit” and “heel”, it is training your dog to respond appropriately and focus in busy real-world situations.

Play! - The joy of play can be a huge motivation for learning and so many dogs prefer toys to food rewards. So use the motivation that works best for your dog to get the most out of them.

Confidence building - Nervous dogs, reactive or quiet dogs find their confidence, bold dogs learn how to control themselves but every dog will get a chance to embrace GRC and find their place within it.

It doesn’t matter whether your dog has done sports before, how old they are or what breed they are, GRC will provide an outlet for you and your dog to grow together and enjoy each other!

So what is GRC?

Gameness - Tapping into your dogs natural drive and commitment to the game or task asked of them.

Relationship - Strengthening and building a positive bond and communication between handlers and their dogs.

Control - Through training, a dog's self control to be at peace and at liberty around dogs, people and what they really want to get to - the drive sports.

Whether you have a nervous/anxious dog, a reactive dog or a well mannered neutral dog, GRC Kent will guide you through our training programme on how to gain these amazing qualities and ultimately have a very happy doggo!

And all we want is to provide a safe environment for you all to do this.
