Calm before the storm!! Luckily we didn’t stop for dinner so we missed the horrible weather, all residential’s worked extremely well over the last few days on shoots!! I’m just going to add that probably 80% of our residential’s we get in for training are pets and don’t actually work in the field back home!! But with our Merlingundogs residential training during the shooting season all residential’s come with me on shoots!! It’s amazing how they naturally take to it and learn from the Merlingundogs pack!! I always say no matter if you work your spaniel in the field or not the spaniel will naturally work 😀🐶❤️

Always an essential part of a picking up roll on a shoot is picking birds through the drive when possible, but the sweeping up after the drive is as an important part of any shoot!! 😀🐶❤️

Our two weeks Residential training change over time comes and goes so quickly, I just don’t know where the time goes!? so lets welcome Hugo, a 5 year old pet working cocker spaniel, he’s with us for a bit of a shooting season holiday, but he will benefit from heel work training to working in a pack environment on shoots! So he’s going to be having the time of their lives! I always put GPS on all my residential’s for peace of mind. He’s looking ready to GEDOOT!! 😀🐶❤️

‼️TRIGGER WARNING‼️game birds been retrieved!! 3 days in the woods reduced to under 10mins!! concentrating on keeping our residential’s steady through the drives while I work the Merlingundogs, loads of distractions so all have done well, then it’s the fun part at the end of each drive to GEDOOT! and sweep the area!! Just love it 🐶😀❤️

Little vid of Remy, one of our residential’s Remy has been to us several times for training so I’m familiar with his capabilities, Remy is a pet gundog and is quite capable of been shot over !! He’s really quite good fun to work 😀🐶❤️

Merla!! Not only is she one of our residential’s, she is out of our Maple and Merlin, so I know what makes her tick, and she has absolute focus on our training, she is a chip off the old block and has very similar characteristics to both mum and dad!! She’s lovely to work and really focused on me!! Her training is going well and I’m pleased with her!! 😀🐶❤️
