This week kicks off with the start of our duck and partridge season!! Great to be back out in the lowlands and the dogs are straight back into it, been a steady season on the grouse as the team are keen, our residential’s Amber and Winston out with us have been steady and focused!! Love it!! 😀🐶❤️

Here is Amber one of our residential’s in for training, she is a pet but with the scope to be worked, I’m working on her retrieving and she is nailing it! We have a full week on shoots this week starting with 3 days on the ducks 🦆 so thought I’d get the sound unit out with the I Launcher , Iv been introducing her to game so will see what she thinks of the ducks 😀🐶❤️

Here is the lovely little Dottie, a pet working cocker spaniel with the opportunity to work, she is coming to the end of her residential training and I’m really pleased with her progress, she is a little pocket rocket and will be ideal in the beating line as this is what she loves to do 😀🐶❤️

Bee has made it safe and well to the USA bless her, she will have the best life joining another 2 English working cockers on a ranch, thanks to skymaster for a smooth taxi service and organising a safe boarding, 😀🐶❤️

Highlights of working on the moors today all residential’s worked well but also been patient while we wait for the drives to finish, then we gedoot to work and hunt sweeping the area for any wounded birds or ones that have been missed by other dogs 😀🐶❤️

Here is Barney one of our residential’s in for training, he is a pet springer spaniel and his training is mainly for heel work and recall, but firstly Iv had to look into what makes him tick, and Iv found he loves a ball so in this video I’m using it for his training and keeping focus on me, I’m doing some very basic leave it commands rewarded with a retrieve, and recall, it’s working well and I’m pleased with his progress, he has continued focusing on me which is what I want for a good bond between us 😀🐶❤️

‼️TRIGGER WARNING ‼️ This video contains rabbit shooting⚠️ here is a little vid of Ronnie one of our residential’s working and flushing rabbits, he’s fairly steady now and works nice and close, he struggled to get hold of the rabbits for the retrieve but that’s ok atm as this exercise is demonstrating him working nice and close and not chasing and we have some rabbits for our freezer 😀🐶❤️

Ronnie the working cocker spaniel, one of our residential’s, Ronnie is with us for two weeks training, to work on his steadiness! He is a pet gundog and he had the urge to run in, he’s into his second week now and I’m starting to get his steadiness under control, he loves the dummy launcher I Launcher and it’s a great tool to work on that steadiness and retrieving, by the time he goes home I’m hoping to be able to shoot over him with out him running in! He’s a good lad 😀🐶❤️

Here is Bee, a one year old working cocker spaniel who is in for residential training.
Bee is a special little girl as she is going to the USA, to one of my clients.
I already knew that she was in need of a new home and I was contacted by a client that lives in the states, the timing was perfect.
She has had no training prior to her coming to us so I’m putting in the time before she goes…she is just lovely and very biddable, keen to please and I’m sure her new owners will be very pleased with her 😀❤️🐶
