It is with the heaviest heart I need to share some news
On boxing day at 10.17 pm our loving , loyal companion Harley Bear died very suddenly.
Harley was only in our world five and a half years , in that precious time , as part of our dog training company she changed literally hundreds of lives , she taught rules to unruly dogs, walked reactive and nervous dogs through there greatest fears and became a safe and protective leader for those that didn't understand a human world, she was an amazing sniffer dog and successfully search for missing people on countless occasions.
Helping dogs wasn't enough for her, she wanted to change the lives and attitudes of people who said look out it's a Rottweiler! , which she did on countless occasions, that was Harley my teammate.
Harley was also my best friend, a protector for our family, a solid anchor and cornerstone, a loving pair of shoulders to hug when you were down.
She loved her beach holidays, was an amazing swimmer and I always stood in awe watching her stand solid as the waves of the sea crashed into her, she was telling nature, nothing you have is strong enough to move me.
So, it's very apt that after her final walk on boxing day , she died in Bernis arms , overlooking the beach and sea she loved so dearly.
But Harley wasn't done changing lives , she managed to put an entire family back together one more time that hadn't been together for a year the next day at the rainbow bridge crematorium where we all said goodbye and were joined in one love for our Harley - Bear , the centre of our family for a short but very precious time.
Life is precious and what I would give for one last walk, there will never be another Harley but I rest knowing every life she changed carries a tiny spark of Harley , hundreds of tiny sparks with all the different lives she touched , this is how her strength, her compassion, her love and the true legend of Harley will live on forever.
Run free my beautiful friend until we meet again x
