Hi! I’m Ted, the 12-year-old behind Ted’s Barkery 🐾
I’m the baker, taste-tester (well… my dog Frank does most of that), packer, recipe writer and boss of Ted’s Barkery, where I make homemade, natural dog treats. My mission is simple: no nasties, just goodness for your dogs.
A bit about me…
In June last year I left school while I was in Year 7. I actually loved school and I love making friends, but I wasn’t learning the way I should have been. I’m dyslexic, but my primary school never looked into it, so I was only diagnosed later with a private assessment.
Because I wasn’t getting the help I needed, my mum and Dad decided to take me out of school so I could be home educated and finally get the support that works for me.
Now I learn at home using online lessons and I go to home education groups too. The best bit is I’ve been able to explore things I’m really interested in.
My favourite subjects are history (especially WW1 and WW2) and geography. I also completed a home learning module about being enterprising, and that’s where the idea for Ted’s Barkery was born!
So now, alongside my studies, I run my own small business making healthy, natural treats for dogs. I do the baking, measuring, packing and labelling… although Frank definitely thinks he is the real bosses.
Thank you so much to everyone who supports my little business. Every like, share and order helps me keep learning, baking and doing something I love.
