‼️URGENT FOSTERING APPEAL‼️
Daisy's babies are some of the lucky few, born in a foster home, with safe futures ahead where they will receive plenty of food, proper veterinary care, and be matched to loving homes. Hundreds of other kittens across Liverpool are in much less happy circumstances.
WE CURRENTLY HAVE MORE THAN A DOZEN CASES ON OUR WAITING LIST WHICH ARE SEVERELY HIGH RISK. These cats are living in unacceptable conditions, and may not survive without intervention. But with an overwhelming number of animals already in our care, it's impossible for us to offer the lifeline they desperately need.
While the bulk of our foster homes focus on mothers and kittens, we’re also glad to recruit people who can help with adult and senior cats. It's common for seniors to be left behind and neglected after the death of an owner, suddenly losing their entire world.
Kittens are obviously the group which needs most time, care and attention, but if you’d like an oldie who will just sleep all day while you’re out at work, we can certainly match you with one of those.
If fostering is something you're interested in, and if you meet the criteria, please fill in the adoption questionnaire on our website with 'fostering' in the 'what pet are you interested in' field. It can be hard work, but is incredibly rewarding.
The criteria are as follows...
+ Previous experience of cat ownership.
+ A quiet, child-free household (sensible teenagers are fine).
+ Own transport to collect/drop off animals.
+ A secure and non-cluttered spare room, which can be set up for fosters (if you have your own pets in the house, they must be kept completely separate from foster animals).
+ If looking after kittens, sufficient free time to regularly clean, feed, and socialise them.
Please don't apply unless you meet these criteria. A home check will be required - unless you have recently adopted a cat from us and already been checked!
The rescue will provide all equipment, from food and cat litter, to blankets, dishes and litter trays, and will arrange vet appointments if needed. The senior cat staff can be reached seven days a week, to answer questions and offer advice, and there’s also an optional fostering group chat for mutual support (and sharing cute kitten photos).
Please help us to save them.
