Steph finally aboard on her lovely boy Shadow.

Shadow was backed and turned away at 3 but we didn’t properly start schooling him until a year ago! We then focused on lots of hacking over the summer and have now decided to crack on with his schooling again. He has recently turned a corner and has proven to be a soft, responsive and a very well behaved ridden horse.

Well done Steph !! Looking forward to seeing you both progress this summer 🥰🥰🥰

I can’t think of a better way to enjoy the lovely weather this week than taking your best friend for a stroll! Here are some of the horses I’ve been lucky enough to see some lovely views from behind their ears!☀️

Why is regular hacking a good part of your equine friend’s routine?

•Can be much fun!
Hacking can be fun for not just your horse, but you as a rider too. It’s very therapeutic and can be a great way for you and your horse to enjoy riding. A study done by Rogerson Et Al, showed that regular exercise within a natural environment did improve wellbeing.

• Improves horses fitness.
Hacking provides many different terrains. Uneven ground and hill work is good for keeping’s muscles supple and strong! It can also be very beneficial for horses who get a little tight, are older or to those who have problems such as arthritis!

•Desensitising your horse.
Exposing your horse to different atmospheres can be really beneficial to your horse. When hacking your horse you may meet cyclists, cars and many other exciting things! Over coming this obstacles with your horse may also increase their trust and bond with you as a rider.

Share a picture of you behind your horses ears!🙂
