A big welcome and well done to four new teams! A brilliant introduction this morning - it never stops blowing my mind how quickly dogs pick up the sport

Mantrailing Murder Mystery - The Missing Ranger 🤠

An absolute blast was had finding a missing forest ranger with the mantrailing dogs. We found an abandoned campsite, trailed on from the survival ration tins, before finding our ranger a little too late... 🔪

Our dogs then identified and chased down the murderer, taking scent from the dead body in the woods.

Teams Gus, Arlo, Indie and Houdini this morning, followed by teams Lenny, Mabel, Jazz, Kestrel and Henry this afternoon. We were blessed with the most perfect trailing conditions and all the dogs were phenomenal! Thanks to all our handlers for absolutely getting stuck in to the theme and making it such a brilliantly fun day!

Debated about sharing this project with you all (especially with our current influx of new followers 🤯) but I think we all know neurodiversity is pretty common in dog world! I've been working with Face Blind UK for the last few months to get them up and running on social media. It's a cause close to my heart as I am catastrophically face blind and I wish more people knew about it. Around 2% of people are face blind to some extent so odds are there's a few hundred of you here who will relate!

We've reached the exciting point of launching the new pages - if you're interested in neurodiversity, if you're neurodiverse yourself and especially if you're a dog (people) trainer, please check out the new Face Blind UK pages (we're on Facebook, Instagram and X!) and maybe give the page a like to get the ball rolling. And if you run into me out and about and you don't have your dog with you, now you know why I haven't got a clue who you are 😅

Prosopagnosia, or "face blindness," is a neurological disorder that impairs a person's ability to recognise familiar faces, sometimes even those of loved ones. People with prosopagnosia can see a face's individual features but fail to connect them to the identity of the person. It is not a problem with vision, memory, or intelligence, but rather a disconnection in how the brain processes facial information. The condition can be acquired after a brain injury or can be present from birth. Face blindness is a spectrum. Some face blind people can recognise friends and family but struggle with acquaintances. Others struggle to recognise everyone, including themselves.
