Ollie made it through his emergency surgery yesterday! 🥳🤍

Because of the pressure that had built up in his eye, the surgery was very risky but our incredible vet Stan did it!

Ollie is clearly feeling a lot better with his eye gone. He’s navigating his new world better than anyone could have expected.

We have received an overwhelming amount of support for Ollie. If you liked, shared, commented or donated your support helped us so much. We are eternally grateful for the support you guys give us and the rabbits. We couldn’t save them if it wasn’t for you.

Thank you so much 🫶🏻🐰

His emergency surgery came to £857.55

Tomorrow Ollie is having an emergency eye enucleation surgery to save his life.

Our darling boy Ollie has developed his second corneal abscess and unlike last time, it hasn’t been resolved with eye drops.

He is now facing emergency surgery tomorrow to avoid the eye rupturing.

This has massively come out of left field and we didn’t expect a £700 operation to fundraiser for in a matter of hours. It’s honestly so worrying.

We have an incredible community who care so deeply for the welfare of the rabbits in our care and we have so far raised £25 through our fundraiser which we are so incredibly grateful for. This will go towards Ollie’s emergency operation tomorrow.

If you could help us save Ollie by donating just £1 towards his emergency operation we would be so grateful for you helping Ollie have a brighter future.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. As always we will keep you updated on Ollie and his surgery. 🤍

Alfred is feeling sad as he hasn’t had any suitable adoption applications 🥲

Don’t let Alfred blindness and ‘moon’ eyes put you off! He’s the most loving little boy and forms really strong bonds with humans 🤍

Alfred needs a space which is at least 3m x 2m x 1m with a companion/s to help show him round his setup! Because he is blind Alfred must be bonded by us.

Alfred is neutered, vaccinated and health checked 🐰

Superstar Penelope had another dental!

This girl never fails to amaze me with her strength and resilience. She is 8 years old, has cancer, arthritis, dental disease and one working nostril yet she is the happiest little soul 🤍

She was a bit wobbly when she came round from the anaesthetic but after 24 hours she was hopping round normally again.

Her vet bill came to £143.37

It’s time for an Arlo update!

This boy has been a bit up and down recently. He was recently returned to us and after a couple of failed bonding attempts things weren’t going as well as we liked for him.

At the time he also started the odd head shake which was out of character.

Because of the behavioural change, the ear shake and him being a lop we decided to run him through the CT machine at the vets to see if anything untoward was going on.

Thankfully he doesn’t have middle ear disease but he does have a huge build up of wax and gunk in his ear canal.

He will be getting an operation in a few weeks to safely remove this before it causes him any more discomfort.

After that he should hopefully go on to live a very normal life! 🤍

His vet bill cost £350

Look who came for a visit!

Duke the Angora was adopted from us a few months ago and he recently came back for a groom 🤍

His owners have been doing a fantastic job of keeping his coat in perfect condition however it was attracting far too much hay so it was time for a trim ✂️🐰

Duke was very well behaved as always, It’s always so lovely to see ex-HIYS rabbits 🫶🏻

Meet Mafalda, Ada for short 🤍

Lovely Ada is 12 years old and has found herself at Hop in Your Step after her owners devastatingly had to rehome her.

Despite being quite arthritic this sweet girl is quite happy in herself.

Unfortunately her spay status is unknown and she will be visiting the vets next week to make a plan of action for her 🐰

‼️We know elderly rabbits being surrendered can cause upset for many however Ada’s owners had a very good reason to rehome her and we won’t accept any negative comments towards them‼️
