🐾 Mitch 🐾 Albus & Draco 🐾

Today was another hot one. So 🐾 Mitch 🐾 enjoyed searching for the treats in the shade.

🐾 Albus & Draco 🐾 enjoyed sniffing the treats around the house. They also cleaned out a licky mat and had cuddles on the sofa 🐾

🐾 A quiet one for Husher’s Hounds today. Happy Walking 🐾

🐾 Hugo & Ted 🐾 Bodhi 🐾 Sid 🐾.

As I had a helper today I introduced 🐾 Hugo & Ted 🐾. They didn’t get on as well as I’d hoped, Hugo was a bit much for Ted and wasn’t listening to him asking for space. So we spent some time either side of the fence and walking next to each other on the lead. Which helped start build the foundations of a good relationship between the two. We also saw fiftyeleven dogs. And Hugo was fabulous with his reactions.
Then we went to a shady forest area with lots of water for 🐾 Bodhi 🐾. We had a lovely slow walk and we stopped and enjoyed every watering hole. We saw lots of dogs. Including a Rottweiler pup. Bodhi interacted really well with each dog we saw. Then as the temperate had risen it was just a drop in for 🐾 Sid 🐾. We spent time in his lovely shady garden. We started with a treat trail to really get his nose engaged. We then had some physical play, getting him moving encourages his need for the toilet, which was a success. We then spent some time working on his wait, and we also introduced a high five. We finished the visit with some cuddles and some belly strokes. 🐾 An extremely warm day, with lots of hydration stops. 🐾 Baxter & Ted 🐾 Albus & Draco 🐾
We started today with an early morning walk with 🐾 Baxter and Ted 🐾. We went to Sandford Woods, which is mostly in the shade and it has a lovely stream running through. We had lots of hydration breaks and I encouraged the boys to slow and down and chill. When they refused to listen and were still carrying on like loons I popped them on the lead to ensure they didn’t get too hot. By the time 🐾 Albus and Draco 🐾 time was here it was too hot to be going out. We threw the ball in the garden but quickly decided it was too hot so we had some treat trails inside, a licky mat and some cuddles on the sofa. 🐾 Thank you to all of my clients for their understanding and their flexibility insuring this warmer weather. We started the day with 🐾 Hugo 🐾 and our routine of the dog enclosure at Upton Country Park. We ensured plenty of hydration breaks were offered. We spent some time practicing impulse control on the field and we stopped by the stream to cool off. We saw so many dogs. And Hugo interacted so well with every single one. Then we went back to Upton Country Park with 🐾 Ted 🐾 . Ted enjoyed a dip in the stream and a run in the field. Ted also spent some time with Loki the Rottweiler. Ted was nervous of Loki to start with so we spent time building up his confidence around such a large dog which was a massive success. We spent the rest of the walk in the shade, and on the lead, to encourage Ted to slow down and stay cool. All in all a great day. Happy Walking.

As the warmer weather approaches, I wanted to inform you that once the temperature hits 20 degrees, I will no longer be taking your dogs out for walks. Instead, I will contact each owner individually to discuss options for drop-in visits, where we can engage in some enriching play in the garden, or decide to skip the visit altogether based on your preference.

Additionally, I’m pleased to offer early morning walks on those warmer days for those interested, but please note that these slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

It's important to keep our furry friends cool during the heat. Here are some tips:

1. Hydration: Always ensure your dog has access to fresh water.
2. Shade: Provide a shaded area for them to rest.
3. Avoid Midday Heat: Limit exercise during the hottest parts of the day.

Certain breeds, especially those with flat faces like Bulldogs and Pugs, as well as older dogs and those with health issues, may require extra care in hot weather. Always monitor your pet for signs of overheating, such as excessive panting or lethargy.

Hello everyone. So, next week is going to be warm. I’d like all my regulars to have a think about what type of a service they would require when the temperature rises. 🐾 Baxter 🐾 Lily 🐾. We spent some time with 🐾 Baxter 🐾 practicing his loose lead walking. We also spent lots of time running free and exploring. Then we went to French’s Farm with 🐾 Lily 🐾 As it was quiet Lily got a repeat good run about off lead. She also met 3 dogs and interacted really well with them. Lots of hydration stops for this one as she struggled in the heat. And we also cut her walk short as she got a bit hot. 🐾 A fabulous Friday. Happy Walking 🐾

The relationship that’s developing between these 3 is awesome. Benni is started to spend more time with Albus and Albus is finally letting him. All 3 really enjoyed the stream today and played chase in the splashes. Sandford Woods is also the ideal place for Draco as he can safely explore among the trees and I can keep an eye on him while he still feels that he’s exploring away from us.

🐾 Hugo 🐾 Baxter & Ted 🐾 Albus, Draco & Benni 🐾 Lily 🐾
We started this beautifully sunny day with 🐾 Hugo 🐾. We went back to Upton Countey Park. We used the dog park to let him off and have a run and then we walked around the field. We met lots of dogs, and Hugo was fabulous with every single one. Then it was time for 🐾 Baxter & Ted 🐾. We went through my local woods then to Upton country park. Both boys enjoyed the water and surprisingly stayed out of the mud!! Then we went to the beach with 🐾 Albus, Draco & Benni 🐾 they all enjoyed sniffing the trails on the way and all enjoyed a splash in the sea. We finished the day with 🐾 Lily 🐾 we went back to her favourite field, she enjoyed a splash in the stream and a run in the field. 🐾 All in all a great day for Husher’s Hounds. Hapoy Walking 🐾

In the springtime sun, with joy all around,
Happy Easter to each of Husher’s Hounds!

Albus, my buddy, by my side you stay,
With treats in my pocket, you brighten the day.

Draco, the explorer, off chasing a squirrel,
With your adventurous spirit, you give life a whirl.

Benni, the follower, with a smile so bright,
You’re always with Draco, what a wonderful sight!

Baxter, the pup, in mud and in water,
You splash and you play, a true little otter.

Mitch, the wise one, in sunbeams we bask,
With treat trails to follow, you’re up for the task.

Sid, the young pup, with fur oh so sleek,
You prance through the grass, so joyful and meek.

Hugo, our worker, you’ve grown strong and true,
With patience and love, we’re so proud of you.

Ted, the sprinter, with energy to spare,
You zoom through the fields, a blur in the air!

Bodhi, the gatherer, with sticks big and grand,
You carry your treasures all over the land.

Lily, our sweetheart, with legs short and round,
You waddle with joy, your slothy is found.

Poppy, our darling, so timid and sweet,
With your pretty little face, you make life complete.
