It’s been 4 years since setting my business, and I’m so grateful for every muddy paw, wagging tail, early morning walk, and for all the amazing dogs (and humans!) who’ve trusted me along the way.

Here’s to the pups who made it possible, the clients who became friends, and many more happy walks to come. 🎉🐶
Thank you for supporting my small, dog-obsessed business!🩵🐾

With Christmas finally over I get to share all the presents I made! Happy New Year everyone 🐾✨

🦠Kennel Cough🦠

Unfortunately I have a confirmed case of kennel cough within my regular dogs.

It is very important to keep up to date on vaccination. The vaccine lower the chances of catching Kennel cough.

Kennel cough symptoms usually appear within 2 to 10 days after a dog is exposed to the infection.

Incubation Period:
• Typical range: 3–5 days
• Extended range: 2–10 days, depending on the dog’s immune system and the specific pathogens involved (e.g., Bordetella bronchiseptica, canine parainfluenza, etc.)

Key Symptoms to Watch For:
• Persistent, honking or hacking cough (most common)
• Sneezing or nasal discharge
• Gagging or retching
• Mild fever
• Lethargy or reduced appetite (less common, usually in more severe cases)

Contagious Period:
Dogs can start spreading the infection during the incubation period, even before symptoms appear, and may continue to be contagious for up to 2–3 weeks after symptoms resolve.

The isolation period for kennel cough (canine infectious tracheobronchitis) typically lasts 10 to 14 days, but in some cases, it may need to be extended up to 21 days depending on the severity and recovery speed.

General Guidelines:
• Mild cases: Isolate for 10 days after symptoms stop.
• Moderate to severe cases: Isolate for 14–21 days after the onset of symptoms or until coughing has completely resolved.
• Multi-dog households or kennels: Extend isolation to 21 days, especially if there are unvaccinated or vulnerable dogs present.

Why Isolation Matters:
• Kennel cough is highly contagious and spreads easily through airborne droplets, shared water bowls, and close contact

• Dogs can still be contagious even after symptoms improve, which is why continued isolation is recommended after coughing stops.

During Isolation:
• Avoid dog parks, grooming salons, daycares, or group walks.
• Keep your dog comfortable and monitor for worsening symptoms.
• Clean and disinfect bowls, bedding, and toys.

I urge you to keep an eye on your precious dogs and if any symptoms do arise then please keep me posted as their walks will be postponed until clear.
