A beautiful morning trailing, working on our junctions with our Sunday teams! Looking at our dogs body language and some controlled casts where needed.

We had some pretty big distractions on trail today - ranging from an in season girl dog in and around the camper van parked up nearby and cow and rabbit 💩.

Lots of really nice progress with these teams today - Well done Team Bonnie, Team Quinn, Team Scooby, Team Digby, Team DeeDee!

A really lovely evening working on some open ground trailing - no paths to follow means no anticipation or guesswork from the handlers or dogs!

This location has free-roaming livestock 🐄🐎 and while none were present tonight, their 💩 definitely was! I anticipated it would be a distraction but none of the dogs were remotely interested this evening and preferred to find their trail layer instead!

For our more advanced teams we also ensured we were mindful to practice our "clock face" starts too.

Great job, Team Daisy, Team Billy, Team Hallie, Team Cooper, Team Ivy, Team Tilly!

Just the two trailers last night! We got to push these teams a little bit further with more bespoke trailing - Mostyn completed a 200m trail with multiple junctions, and Arthur got to practice an aged trail with a difficult find at the end!

Super proud of both of these guys - Well done Team Mostyn, Team Arthur!

Another early start for Tuesday's teams as we trailed under the rising sun! Ok so it was mostly cloud but at least it was dry this time. The teams worked well to find their trail layer using a camping chair as a scent article.

Fabulous morning trailing in the clouds!

We discussed the intricacies of our dogs wider mindset and confidence and how this impacts trailing, and how we may need to adapt how we work as handlers to best accommodate our dogs' unique personalities when trailing.

Weather conditions were great for trailing, and I was impressed with how well the dogs coped with and recovered from some large distractions on trail.

A component exercise, trailing our trail layers back to their own vehicles this morning!

This can be a challenging concept for dogs as it combines unfamiliar patterns (going back on themselves) and a really tricky scent pool puzzle.

The dogs did really well at this today!

A super evening working some decoy exercises - there were plenty of natural decoys around in Cardiff, with 'The Script' and 'The Taylor Swift Experience' concerts both happening in town this evening!

Ensuring the dogs are trailing for the person we have asked them to search for, and not just any person in the location is really important for successful Mantrailing.

The dogs all did very well this evening and showed excellent confidence and resilience.

Well done Team Nala, Team Gracie, Team Scooby, Team Daisy, Team Rowan, Team Loki!
