Taking Rex to France 🇫🇷🐾: what was it actually like?
I’ve been asked a lot about the process of taking Rex to France, so I thought I’d summarise our experience here!
Rex is nervous around new people, so one of my biggest worries was how he’d cope with the journey and potentially having to be handled by people he didn’t know.
But the whole process was honestly so much easier than I expected. Everything went smoothly, Rex took it all in his stride, and the staff were brilliant every step of the way.
📅 PLAN! There are strict deadlines for when to get the AHC, rabies jab and worming treatment - make sure these appointments are booked well in advance!
🐾 TRAIN! All dogs should be crate and muzzle trained anyway, but making sure this training is refreshed before you go is important. Get a travel crate and prepare your dog for a longer car journey!
😌 RELAX! If you’re stressed, your dog will pick up on it too. Treat going into the vet, pet reception and the car like any other day - it’ll help your dog take it all in their stride.
