Just a little update from me! 😊

I’ve been a bit busy behind the scenes recently, working on some new things to add to my services, and I’m really excited to finally start sharing them with you.

One of the new things I’ve been developing is equine healing, and over the next few weeks I’ll be posting some photos and videos of sessions I’ve carried out, along with some of the lovely horses I’ve been working with.

It’s been a really interesting journey so far, and I’ve seen some lovely responses from the horses. They never stop teaching me something new! Although some of them seem to think standing on my toes is a perfectly acceptable way to say thank you… 🤣🐴

I’m looking forward to showing you more of what I’ve been working on and sharing a bit more about how equine healing can support your horse alongside massage therapy.

As always, thank you for following my journey and supporting my little business. Keep an eye out for the upcoming photos and videos! 🐎✨

I’ve been keeping a little secret! 🤫 I’m currently diving deep into Equine Healing training (I also do Reiki), and I just had to share this moment from a practice session with Harry.

Watch for the muscle release—it’s so subtle at first and then just ripples through him. It’s amazing to see how much tension they can hold onto and how beautiful it is when they finally let it go.

Has anyone else ever tried energy work with their horses? I’d love to hear your stories! 👇

It’s been a really busy weekend at JC Equine Therapies, with such a lovely mix of horses to work on 💛

I’ve been out seeing all sorts this weekend, and I feel really lucky to do what I do. Every horse is different, and I love getting to know them, figuring out what they need, and helping them feel that bit more comfortable in themselves.

I’ve had plenty of kisses, cuddles, and those little “horsey thank yous” that make it all worth it 🐴✨ You know the ones… the soft eyes, the sighs, the leaning in.

Days like this remind me why I started in the first place. Tired, but very grateful.

A little update from me 😊

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve changed my business name from JC Equine Massage to JC Equine Therapies and Rehabilitation… and I just wanted to share why.

Over time, what I offer has grown into so much more than just massage. While massage is still a big part of what I do (and something I love!), I’m also working with horses in a wider way to support their overall wellbeing, recovery, and performance. It felt right that the name reflects that properly.

Nothing else has changed – same passion, same care, same commitment to helping your horses feel and move their best 💙 Just a name that better fits everything I now offer.

I’ve popped some info in the images about the different therapies I provide, so feel free to have a look!

And as always, if you’d like to get booked in or have a chat about how I can help your horse, just drop me a message 😊

I wanted to thank Equine K Taping UK for yet again another amazing product. I used these acupressure patches on a very girthy horse. They were left on for the night and all day when he went out in the field. They were then only took off because he was to be ridden. I wasn't expecting them staying on due to the area but they were still there.

I went out for a walk yesterday and picked some dandelion heads and cleavers for Harry. Maverick loved helping out and as you can see Harry loved eating them. Let me know if you would like to know what forage you can pick for your horse and the benefits of it.

I want to thank my beautiful friend Laura from Equiprana - Wellnessöle für Pferde for the lovely oils she gave me to try on Harry. I gave him the joint oil and the relaxation one and as you can see he was more interested in the joint one. This is understandable after the winter we have had.

“My horse needs a physio, not just a massage.”

I hear this quite a lot and it usually comes from a bit of misunderstanding about what each role actually involves.

First things first… no physio, massage therapist, or chiropractor can diagnose your horse that should always come from a qualified vet. Diagnosis is a veterinary responsibility, and it’s so important that any concerns are properly assessed that way first.

What we do as therapists is support the horse’s body alongside that.

Massage therapy isn’t “just a massage” or a pamper session. It’s hands-on work that helps address muscle tension, soreness, and restrictions that can build up through work, training, or everyday movement.

Over time, these tight areas can affect how your horse moves, how they carry themselves, and even their behaviour.

Massage therapy helps by:
• Releasing muscle tension and tightness
• Improving circulation and blood flow
• Supporting better range of motion and flexibility
• Aiding recovery after work
• Encouraging relaxation and reducing stress

In my sessions, I also include:
• Gentle leg stretches to improve flexibility and mobility
• Assessing rotation and movement through the limbs
• Kinesiology taping where appropriate to support the muscles

It’s not about choosing between massage and physio they work together. Massage can help maintain your horse between treatments, support recovery, and often pick up on small changes before they turn into bigger issues.

And remember your horse doesn’t have to be “injured” to benefit. Regular maintenance is one of the best things you can do to keep them comfortable, mobile, and performing happily.

So no it’s not “just a massage.”
It’s part of keeping your horse feeling and moving their best.

If you’re unsure what your horse might need, I’m always happy to chat 🐴
