A few years ago, we were asked if we could help an older cat named Baby, (Babe). At the time, Baby was 11 years old and desperately needed a new home as her beloved owner was terminally ill and receiving hospice care in Birmingham.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have the space to take her in ourselves, so we put out an appeal and hoped that someone special would come forward.
Thankfully, a wonderful lady called Jo from Rescue Cat Tails in Cornwall stepped in and offered to help find Baby the home she deserved. That home turned out to be with a kind and caring gent named Paul, who welcomed her with open arms and gave her all the love, comfort and security she could ever have wished for.
For the last few years, Baby enjoyed a peaceful and happy life with Paul. Sadly, she had become quite poorly recently, and despite Paul’s unwavering love and determination to help her recover, her little body was telling us it was time.
Today, Paul had to make the heartbreaking decision to help Baby cross the Rainbow Bridge.
No matter how many times we face it in rescue, losing an animal is never easy. We always find ourselves wishing for just a little more time. But the greatest gift we can give them is love, and Baby certainly had that in abundance.
We would like to send our heartfelt condolences and love to Paul. Thank you for opening your heart and home to Baby when she needed it most, and for giving her the wonderful life she deserved in her final years.

Sleep tight, sweet Baby. You were loved, and you will be remembered. 🌈🐾

So far this week, we’ve been incredibly lucky to receive five bags of cat biscuits, five bags of cat litter, trays of Gourmet, boxes of Sheba, Dreamies, Whiskas, and some monetary donations from our wonderful supporters.
We would normally post photos of all the donations we receive, and we do have photos of some of them. However, with Curly being unwell this week, our attention has understandably been elsewhere. He’s much brighter and eating well again.
Thank you all once again for your kindness, generosity, and continued support. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a huge difference and is very much appreciated xx

We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity shown to us this week.
Today brought yet more donations of cat biscuits and Dreamies, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have such amazing support behind us.
We know we often say how grateful we are, but we genuinely mean it. Every donation, whether big or small, makes a real difference and helps us continue caring for our cats. Your kindness, generosity, and support never go unnoticed.
Thank you all so much – we truly appreciate each and every one of you. 🐾❤️ xx

Firstly, an update on Curly.

He does seem a lot brighter, although he is still being syringe fed. He has these episodes, (not the seizure), whenever he develops an ear infection, so it’s nothing new to us. We’re making sure he stays well hydrated, especially with the hot weather and alongside his kidney failure.

Secondly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the anonymous people who kindly donated cat litter, biscuits, and Gourmet food. Unfortunately, there was no note included with the items, so we can’t thank you personally, but please know how incredibly grateful we are.
So thank you from all the team here at JE, you guys are truly amazing. Xx

Curly was back at the vets first thing this morning after suffering a seizure lasting no more than 2–3 seconds.
His head tilt has worsened slightly over to the right, so today he’s had subcutaneous fluids, an anti-sickness injection, and a further course of antibiotics. He’ll be reviewed again tomorrow.
Please keep this lovely boy in your thoughts and send lots of positive healing vibes his way
Obviously, the hot weather is not helping his condition, but we will keep him cool and comfortable and hydrated xx ❤️
