🐾 First Solo Adventure with Pippa & Ruby! 🐾
After our wonderful initial meet-and-greet assessment, I had my very first official walk with the gorgeous Pippa and Ruby today! 🥰
For our first few outings, I have these two out by themselves. While group walks are the ultimate goal, taking them out solo is a crucial step in setting them up for long-term success. Right now, it’s all about focusing on one-on-one bond building to strengthen our relationship, build mutual trust, and ensure they feel completely safe and confident with me.
We kept things super interactive today with lots of fun engagement, including games of fetch and practicing their recall! 🎾✨
Why Solo Engagement Walks Are So Beneficial:
- Building a Strong Bond: Spending dedicated, undivided time together helps them see me as a source of fun, safety, and direction.
- Making Training Fun: Incorporating games like fetch and reward-based recall ensures they want to listen and engage, turning learning into a game.
- Boosting Focus & Trust: In a big, distracting world, fun engagement teaches them to check in with me, strengthening their focus even when there are exciting smells or sights around.
- Smooth Transitions: Establishing a solid foundation of trust now ensures that when they do meet new dogs, they will look to me for guidance, keeping the experience positive.
Over time, I will slowly and safely introduce Pippa and Ruby to some of my regular doggy friends so they can confidently join our group walks in the future. For now, I’m just soaking up all the cuddles and playtime with these two superstars! 🐶❤️
