📢 We Have Moved Back To One Main Page

To help simplify things and make it easier for everyone to keep up with Peterborough Cat Rescue, we will now be posting all cats looking for homes, rescue updates, fundraising, and general content on our main page only.

This means new cats and updates will no longer be regularly posted on this homing page.

You can follow everything here:
Peterborough Cat Rescue

All cats currently looking for homes can also be viewed anytime on our website:

Thank you for all your support and for continuing to help the cats in our care. 💚

** We have updated Winnies bio to reflect some changes as the weeks have gone by. She has mellowed more so we felt only right to reflect this. She is yet to receive an application **

Winnie arrived in rescue absolutely FUMING. Not nervous. Not timid. Just pure “I’d like to speak to the manager immediately” energy. She marched around glaring at everyone like she’d been personally inconvenienced by the entire rescue system and was preparing several strongly worded emails about it.

Back then, trying to interact with Winnie felt a bit like approaching an angry customer service desk worker on hour 14 of their shift. The attitude was outrageous.

BUT… against all odds, Winnie has softened. These days she can actually be picked up without reacting like she’s being abducted by aliens, and she’s discovered that head strokes are surprisingly enjoyable. She even purrs now — although she always looks slightly annoyed at herself afterwards, like she’s accidentally revealed emotions.

Now, let’s discuss Winnie’s lifestyle choices. She is NOT one of those clingy cats who follows you about begging for affection. Oh no. Winnie values independence, dignity, and her own personal bed. She spends most of her time curled up in it looking like a grumpy retired landlady who’s sick of everybody’s nonsense.

Human furniture? Overrated. Laps? Embarrassing. Sleeping on your pillow? Grow up. Winnie prefers to observe the household from a distance like a tiny furry security guard who’s one inconvenience away from shutting the whole place down.

That said, once Winnie decides you’re worthy, she’s genuinely hilarious company. She’s full of sass, attitude, and dramatic facial expressions, but underneath it all she’s become a sweet girl who just likes affection administered correctly and respectfully — preferably with no sudden movements and absolutely no nonsense.

Winnie is looking for a home that understands she is not “just a cat.” She is, in fact, a semi-retired diva in a calico dressing gown.

Most of you will recognise Pixie and know her awful back story. With the time, love and care given to her by dedicated fosterer, Vicki, she has now made a full recovery and ready for her new start in life she so very much deserves.....

Pixie has shown herself to be a very independent & spirited young lady with a strong character. She loves to play and does everything a young cat should and is a pro at zoomies! She loves cat nip toys.

Pixie is a cat that does follow humans around everywhere. She does have a tendency to weave in and out of your legs while walking so can be a trip hazard at times so we have to take into consideration the age and agility of applicants due to this.
Pixie does sometimes occasionally have a playful dab at legs and feet.

Pixie is very fond of human company and will happily join you on your knee for a lap cuddle or sit beside you on the sofa. However, she does not tolerate other cats and must be the only princess in the home. Having heard dogs outside, Pixie is terrified and will bolt away so dogs will not be considered.

Pixie has a very healthy appetite and has been fed on good high end quality food during her recovery and she is now wonderfully healthy, fully recovered and looking for her forever home. Pixie deserves so much love after having gone through so much in her first year of life.

Please note: For cats advertised for rehoming from 1st May, our adoption donation is now £100. This a very small price increase that nowhere near reflects our vetinary costs (April vet bills were £13,144.81!) Our kitten package cost remains the same (£160)

Polite notice from the homing team. Please only apply for cats available for adoption if you are committed to adoption. This week we have spent so much time checking applications and calling people, waiting for calls back etc. We have been given a lot of random reasons as to why now isn't the time, people changing their minds, then changing it back again. Please remember we are ALL volunteers. At least 5 applicants have changed their minds, given stories or completely ghosted us when we've tried to make contact.
Please don't waste our time.
Thank you.
