Rosie Stuart (25 & over)
My name is Rosie, I’m 26 and I live on a small holding farm just outside of Longwick, Buckinghamshire with my Fiancé and family.
I own 4 horses:
Tyler - A 18yo 15.2hh Welsh D X, who at present is my “main” ride. I have owned him for approx. 11 years! Together we like to go out and have fun, mostly partaking in Sponsored Rides, with the odd competition here and there - including a couple of clear rounds a few years ago at Upper Farm! (I hope to do more now that I have the ability to tow - as I have been relying on my Father to chauffeur me around. He is aptly named Top Groom! And I am forever grateful for him). My goals for Tyler are to improve our way of going on the flat and over fences, and get him out to clinics this year, and some low level competitions - dressage (Prelim) and Showjumping. I’d love to get to a point where we could do an 80cm round confidently, and 70%< Prelim.
Orion - More commonly known as Nug - a rising 4yo 16.3hh(still growing!) Appaloosa X Warmblood. I have owned him since he was 8 months old, and I had my first sit on him last year. We haven’t done much more than that under saddle as he needed to mature more physically, so he is currently turned away until the spring before we crack on again. We have however dipped our toes into the world of showing over the years, and even entered into our first affiliated show last year at The BApS National show @ Hartpury, placing 2nd, 5th and 6th in our classes. We have been to a few other local shows in the area too. My goals for Nug are mostly to just continue his education as best I can so that he can become a nice all rounder for me. This is prime time to mould him into the best version of himself that he can be so I’m keen to do it right! This year I’d aim to get him out to a few training venues for him to see the world whilst under saddle, and possibly an Intro dressage test if he feels ready. Long term I plan to take him to Windsor to do both ridden and inhand classes.
I also have two ponies, Heather and Vanity. Heather was my first pony, we have had her for around 19 years now! She’s estimated to be in her early 30s, but you wouldn’t know it with her energy and antics! Vanity the shetland is Heathers best friend, and they are living the life of luxury being field ornaments with a small flock of sheep.
I have been riding for about 20 years now, and went to BCA in 2012 to do a Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management. I’ll be brutally honest in that I’m not sure I’ve had a riding lesson since I was at college!! Due to my previous job, personal expenses and Equine expenses - lessons have been on the back burner, but I’m so keen to have them again as I definitely need a few kinks ironing out! I have struggled a little with riding confidence in the past, however last year I felt a lot stronger and at worst usually just need somebody to give me encouragement and then I was fine. I am constantly trying to improve myself - researching and practising when I can! Unfortunately I don’t have many facilities at home so my horses usually get a winter break to relax and get muddy.
I think I would be a good candidate for Sponsorship, as although I am not a world be**er in terms of my abilities, I would REALLY make the most of the opportunity given to me! I am very active on Instagram (), currently sat on 2.6k followers - but pushing for more. I have also had some fairly good reach using the Reels function on Instagram, with some of my videos reaching over 100k views. I love putting products to the test, and am always recommending things that I believe others should know about. I also run the “Princes Risborough Equestrians” page on Facebook, where locals can advertise, chat, recommend etc - and would be more than happy to promote within this. It would be a delight to work with a local small equestrian business, as I would love to have one myself one day.
Thank you for reading, and for the opportunity!
