🦷🐱 February = National Pet Dental Health Month

Cats are experts at hiding dental pain.

One of the most common (and painful) conditions we see is FORL – now called tooth resorption – where the body starts to break down the tooth, often below the gumline.

From the outside, a tooth can look normal.
On an X-ray? Severe damage.

🦷 Painful
🦷 Progressive
🦷 Only treated by extraction
🦷 Diagnosed properly with dental X-rays

Many cats still eat as normal, so it’s easy to miss.

This February, let’s look below the surface and protect those tiny feline teeth. 🐾✨

💘🐾 Valentine’s Day & Your Pets 🐾💘

Valentine’s Day is all about spending time with the ones you love — whether they’re two-legged or four-legged 💕

While you’re enjoying chocolates, flowers and cosy evenings in, don’t forget that some of our favourite treats can be risky for our furry Valentines.

Here are a few things to keep safely out of paw’s reach:

🍫 Chocolate
The darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it is. It can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, tremors, seizures and heart problems in dogs.

🌸 Lilies (especially for cats!)
Extremely toxic — even a small nibble or pollen exposure can lead to kidney failure. If you have cats, lilies are best avoided completely.

🌹 Roses
Not toxic, but thorns can cause mouth injuries or tummy upset if chewed.

🍬 Xylitol (in sugar-free sweets & gum)
Can cause a rapid drop in blood sugar and liver failure in dogs — this is an emergency.

🎀 Ribbons & gift wrap
Particularly tempting for cats, but string can cause serious intestinal blockages.

🕯️ Candles & essential oils
Curious pets and open flames don’t mix well — and some oils can be harmful if inhaled or ingested.

🎄✨ Wishing all our wonderful clients and their furry family members a very Merry Christmas! ✨🎄

Today’s festive star is Marco Polo, who popped in to see us and proudly accepted one of our Christmas toys… which he then successfully destroyed in under 5 minutes 😄🐶
Safe to say, he was extremely pleased with himself!
