❀️ We would like you to meet our new Foster boy from one of the big shelters, he has been placed with us for specialist rehabilitation. We were his last lifeline and euthanasia was being considered as he wouldn't settle after the shelter had tried everything for him.πŸ₯Ή

Observations taken from our behavioural assessments suggest this Malinios has been used previously as a protection dog for a female. He has conditioned protective responses, reactive towards all men and has an understanding of trained bite work. But underneath this is a very sweet, needy boy that just needs some love, understanding, guidance and kind training!!

Over the last few weeks he has been settling in with us and coming off of his sedation medication. His favourite toy at the moment is his rope which he likes to wear as his medallion! πŸ₯°
Building his trust and making him feel safe is the first crucial key to his training success!!🫢

We have given him a new name for his new start here - meet 'Munch!' ( Monster Munch- sweet & spicy edition πŸ˜‰ ..because he wants to munch the men at the moment)

Let's see some love for this poor boy- fresh starts!🩡🐾🫢

SOME EXCITING NEWS!!😁
We have been busy behind closed doors ( apologies for lack of posts!) and so....

Announcing 'Corner Meadow Animal Rehabilitation Community Benefit Society.'

As many of you know, animal welfare has always been close to our hearts. Many of you already know that for years, we have been rescuing animals. But since rescuing Meadow and Miles, we've been on a journey of rehabilitation, love, and learning with many new MV members involved.
Thanks to your support, we've been able to make a real difference to their lifes!!!!πŸ’žπŸ«Ά

But we want to do more.

That's why we're proud to announce the launch of the 'Corner Meadow Animal Rehabilitation Community Benefits Society'. A not for profit organisation dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals and betterment of animal welfare.

Our mission is simple but powerful:
To build a community where abandoned animals are free from fear, pain, and stress and instead are met with love, respect, and empathy.

Through education, outreach, and hands-on support, we aim to empower the public with the knowledge and tools to make a lasting impact on animal welfare.

Whether you're an animal lover, a fellow rescuer, or someone who simply wants to help, we'd love for you to be part of this journey.πŸ₯°

Stay tuned for ways to get involved, upcoming events, and how you can support our mission.

πŸ₯° πŸ™Œ As we have reached just over a year since M&M joined our community, we wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on M&M.

Over the past year, your continued support has been invaluable in helping us provide the necessary rehabilitation they so desperately needed!! From covering insurance to vet fees, your generosity has made all the difference and helped save their lives!!! We are eternally grateful!! πŸ’žπŸ™

During the Christmas break, we reflected on how we could best support them moving forward.....

They will always require knowledgeable kind and ethical behavioural training, these two will always carry trauma and need ongoing continued proffesional training to prevent them from relapsing.
They need large open runs with appropriate fencing to allow off lead runs each and everyday!
They need ongoing veterinary, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to support the malnutrition consequences, allergies, shoulder & elbow issues etc.

They need constant training and a job to do everyday, three times a day with their busy Mali brains!! These are not pet dogs! They need their agility, hoopers, scentwork and life skills rehabilitation training all the time!!
These commitments are massive....!!!

Chances of finding an experiended and knowledgeable trainer capable and willing to take these two on??.....it just hasn't happened, not one person has come forward..😞

But more importantly they need 'Love to heal their hearts'.....and they have truly bonded with our family.... they trust in us and are making such good progress!! It has become obvious to us all they need to stay here with us, a home for life!! πŸ₯° πŸ’•πŸ‘πŸΎ

They have so many MV friends now- all part of their new family. (Thank you to all those that have worked with us over the last year, helping to teach these beautiful souls how to trust!! πŸ’žπŸ₯°πŸ™Œxx)

We are committed to ensuring they continue to receive the love and care they deserve, and we are excited about this new chapter in their lives!πŸ€—

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of this journey with us! Without your help, we would not have been able to give these two babies the lifeline they so needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!β€οΈπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸ™πŸ₯°

Please stay tuned for more updates as we will continue to post their progress as requested!

Once again, thank you for your incredible support!β€οΈπŸ™

πŸ₯°πŸ™ 100 'MILES' PER HOUR 🀩❀️

He's done it again- making us SO PROUD!!!!!! πŸ₯ΉπŸ™πŸ’ž 2 X FIRST PLACE!

Only his 3rd trip out and first time competing (instead of NFC not for competition like last time) at Ogilvie Dogs ! Thank you again to the amazing team & judge Luisa Mattei at Oglivie dogs this morning- we were made to feel so welcome!!

We took his jumps up to 500 today, which made it a lot harder than the 200 previously jumped last time at NFC.

But the biggest win of the day was having his photo with our friend and MV client Tamas!! ( who also deserves a big congratulations πŸŽ‰ Alma won 2 second places on her 2nd time out! Well done Tamas & instructor Lucy Wright 🀩 πŸ‘)

Being THIS CLOSE to another dog and dis- engaging was just amazing!!!!!! 😱

Thank you to RR Canine Conditioning for your help with his conditioning journey to support his agility training!🀩

This little chap just keeps on giving and progressing!!! So excited for his future!😍 All the hours of training are paying off!

Thank you HydroFido for our very first swimming lesson!
It was crucial to introduce the water correctly and proffesionally so we didn't knock their confidence....πŸ₯°

πŸ₯°πŸ™BURSTING WITH PRIDE!!!!!βœŠοΈπŸŽ‰πŸΎ

So after a Christmas of not much training ( due to us all having flu πŸ€’) and a ripped toe nail for Miles...( typical Mali style!πŸ™„).... we decided to brave it out and attend the Ogilvie Dogs - young dogs jump start today.

We decided to enter NFC ( not for competition) as it is only his 2nd time out externally away from MV, and having had a sore toe we didn't want him jumping too high. ( His welfare is always our top priority!!!)

He blew us away!! Wow- he made good choices and disengaged with other dogs when asked! 🀩 ( hours of training put to the test!) Gave some beautiful waits- this is SUPER HARD for this boy when his arousal gets up.....and he focused!!! ( not to mention the cars, people, traveling, being away from mum etc)

He ran his little heart out and totally focused on his best friend Lucy, desperate to please her.....and gosh they ran it as a team!!!!
To watch this brings tears to my eyesπŸ₯ΉπŸ™...... a year of hard work and bond building........πŸ’ž from super reactive & fearful to fighting fit and ready....

A hundred ' Miles' per hour & Lucy......this is getting exciting- so Proud!!!πŸ“’πŸ˜βœŠοΈβ€οΈπŸ₯°πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸ™ŒπŸ€©βœ”οΈπŸ’žπŸΎ

A huge thank you to Steph Pratley and the rest of the wonderful team dogs.😘

πŸ₯° Thank you to all those that attended the fundraising 'wreath making' evenings with Meadow & Miles!- kindly organised by Jane Tustin....

On top of raising much needed funds for M & M, this provided a fantastic training opportunity to work on their 'social people' training!

It was just wonderful to see these two rescues interacting and coping in a busy environment with some people they hadn't yet met!!! πŸ˜πŸ™ My heart melted- all the hard work and hours of trust training started to show as they relaxed!!

This just wasn't possible a few months back....in fact back in February, Miles was so flooded by introducing a new person he was considered a risk!
Just look how far they have come....and shows what love, patience and reward based knowledgeable training can achieve!!

Such a wonderful, fun evening had by all, and some amazing Christmas wreaths made too! πŸ€©πŸŽ„

Thank you Everyone from Meadow & Miles!πŸ’žπŸΎXx
